Cant seem to find the answer if i can have powder delivered to NY. The nearest place i can buy black horn is a 3 hr round trip and roughly $25-$30 in gas. SO it would make since to just order some and pay the extra fee for shipping.

I know when i buy it at the store I have to sign a log book saying how much I bought, which makes me think having it shipped to my home would be a no in NY.

If anyone could find me a link confirming a yes or no that would be awesome, thanks

ive had plenty shipped to NJ. cant be that much difference. The hazmat fee is a per package deal, so the more you get, the cheaper that hazmat gets to be per LB. Usually up to 25#. It just gets tricky if you use one of the degrading powders and dont shoot much.

There are certain things we can no longer have shipped to us in NY because of the "Safe Act" the Knot head in Albany shoved though on us.

The Law is pretty messed up and unclear in its wording, and confuses some out of state dealers.

I myself have not tried powder yet. Best I can offer is.. call a local gun shop and ask them. IF they are a good dealer they will tell you. You could call Midway or Graff & Sons and ask too. I don't see NY restricted on their sites anymore but still not sure.

When the Safe Act was first enacted places like Midway USA sent me emails telling me they would no longer ship ANY ammo or reloading components (Bullets, Primers, Brass, Powder etc) to NY. They have since figured out the law and what they can ship. You cannot have ANY ammo shipped direct to you and it must go though an FFL, i'm not sure on powder and primers though. Some dealers want to charge an FFL Transfer fee same as a firearm to accepts Ammo for you that they don't carry. I have one local dealer that will let you ship to them at no charge, so he is one I do support the most.

i have had black powder shipped to my house in NY but not in a while. I used a company called Powder Inc. I dont see any provision in the safe Act prohibiting this. .
You can review it here
https://safeact.ny.gov
Powder Inc would probably know also. So would the other distributors like Graf's , Maine Powder house etc.
