Just couldn't have enough confidence that "when" I might get a VX6-HD upgrade replacement, that it would hold up any better than the VX6 that keeps breaking.
I always liked Nikon Monarch scopes, but they wouldn't hold up at all on my Encore platform rifles. I thought that the VX6 would take the punishment and found that wasn't the case with the BP Xpress. Twice.
I have to give Leupold CS credit, they tried. The deal is done, they're refunding my purchase price, including sales tax.
Next scope to mount will be a Nightforce.

Cool. Which one did you go with?
NXS?

They are heavy but bombproof. Youll have to send a pic when its mounted

I have a good lead with a great price on this one, with the MOAR reticle: http://www.nightforceoptics.com/nxs/5-5-22x50

The NXS has a 30mm tube, so I'll use the Mark4 15moa mount and rings I already have a small fortune wrapped up in.

Be sure to lap rings before installing to 100% contact.

Mark 4 base and rings definitely need lapping

encore. Do you think the vx-6 will hold up on a bushmaster 450?

Been helping to settle an estate and been off line for a couple days.

I have the VX6, 3-18x44 CDS w/firedot on a .450 Bushmaster, with no issues. Its outstanding. There's no reason why it shouldn't hold up with the .450 round. Its like shooting a BB gun compared to my Ultimate. Really my .450 has no more recoil than a 28ga.
