Love the stock . Just ordered one last week in that color in the pro varmint version
Yes I really like the stock for sure and even better yet is the Krieger barrel. I been wanting a Krieger for a very very long time . Krieger and Douglas are my personal favorites. I now have Bestill customs 408 Krieger and a 45 Douglas so once again a big thanks to Jeff ..:)

Ya Jeff's ok . Lol they don't get any better . I keep saying the same thing . The more I know Jeff Fisk (Bestll) the more I like and respect the guy .

Wow, that is an awesome work of art.

I want to correct myself. Art is something you hang on the wall and look at.
That is one piece of very fine craftsmanship!

Don't know what Jeff charges for a custom built rifle. But if I had money I could burn, I'd ask for a 45 cal with a 1-20" twist with shallow groves. I'm sure if you proceed with having Jeff build you your rifle, you'll be well pleased.

Awesome work Bestill!

Chet, that is one beautiful rifle! A dream rifle for sure! I'm sure it'll drive tacks... can't wait to see your report(s)! :yeah: :yeah: :D

Sized my .410 cal. no excuses 410 gr down to .4078 which was a nice slip fit yet still loaded easy enough on a fouled bore
Shot 70 gr pyrodex p and got it on paper and cloverleaf groups so now I am ready to experiment and see what it takes to get an accurate load
I sized some today at .408 and am going to try them with Blackhorn 209 next trip out . The .408 was tight enough that I think I should get good ignition with blackhorn . Will see soon I guess

I have a crane you can us to get it in the stand lol. that is one fine looking ML love to see some targets. have to cleanup gun porn you no !!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been carrying my Knight 500 this gun season in Indiana . I think it weighs 13.25 lbs with my big Sightron scope . With a sling it's not bad to carry a 14 to 15 lb gun at all . I'm 52 not a youngster . I guess I'm use to carrying my 16lb climber . Now if I had to carry my climber and my 14 lb rifle I would be crying ! One thing I don't like about a heavy gun is if I would have to free hand the gun but if I'm carrying a heavy gun it's to sit in a blind or a stand with a shooting rail. Other than that I actually like a hevier gun . Its more stable and less recoil .

Can't say enough about how nice your gun looks

It will be interesting to see how a 40 shoots with big lead and BH209. Ive had no problems with it in 45cals using veggie wads.

Very nice looking.
Mind if I ask what's the thickness of that recoil blade between the receiver and the barrel? Looks much beefier than the ones doc white put on his rifles.

Callahan .186 thick stainless taper sides recoil lug

What metal is in that barrel? Did you go with Chrome moly. Been lookin at the Kriegers, and they all seem to be chrome as standard. Do they offer SS ?

I have some of these 300 gr Parker’s .408 on the way to try in my dream gun . Only thing is the jacket is .028 so probably take at least 140 gr Blackhorn to get it to bump up enough to engage. I wish the jacket was thinner like the EMax
