This bullet was cast and provided by 52Bore. It is my understanding the mold was designed by he, and JD. The mold is currently available for purchase from Buffalo Arms Company. The bullet was shot through carpet, plywood, water jugs, and into a phone book. Range was 25 yard. Powder charge was 80g Blackhorn.

The first two jugs were destroyed, and flattened. The next four jugs have holes in and out. The fourth jug has the bottom blown out, as does the fifth jug. The bullet penetrated about 1/4 the way into the phone book, and ended up on the ground about 3' behind the horse. The bullet weighs 538.2 grain.

Ron, Thanks again.
The only reason to send you -yet another- heavy bullet to test was to see the 2 extreme differences in lead bullets: both pure and WW. Too bad the WW wasn't recovered, but it's not very practical - maybe in a BPCR.
The pure is no surprise again, nut 99% retention is just incredible to me for a pure lead bullet. We've now seen this on many pure lead bullets and it goes to show just how malleable the soft lead is- it bends, stretches, etc. but doesn't come apart nearly turing inside out as it keeps mushrooming.

One thing that is notable but not captured is the 1" diameter hole that plows thru the test after it mushrooms. guaranteed that large surface area is slowing it down tremendously.
Thanks
