But I really want to share this old man...

During the tail end of the late ML elk season and while forcing my way through the snow we encountered this old man - could not resist getting some pictures and now the urge to share,,

It appears that he had been in the woods longer than I but. was just as frustrated with the lack of elk as I was. I did not talk to him so I really do not know his thoughts - his looks just said it all...
 
pretty cool. I think those notches are for a lumberjack springboard, that was used to fell the tree

You know what's funny is I took a pic of his cousin in my woods on the last day of our late season...

He does look younger and happier! He looks like he was really been happy to see you!

Funny that we both found some interest in an old stump!
 
Got to remember my camera next year in northern Maine. Some awesome old growth stumps and other notable views stick in my mind.
