the kodiax 45 came from ed's gun shop and as promised it is a nib made in 2004, nickel with camo stock. i shimmed the breech plug to head space for win 209 primers and went to the range. i tried the .450" lee conicals from my revolvers and they just about fell down the barrel, and shot with some missing a 2x3' target. at least the shim worked, no blow back. at home i tried a lee .456 conical from my roa revolver, it went down the barrel without a huge effort and i can see where the rifling cut into the soft lead, like one of the lee R.E.A.L. bullets. maybe i will get lucky and the .456 conicals will shot well enough to break in the barrel. i did try a few nolser 150gr 10mm jhp's with standard harvester sabots and did get a group. i reckon i am better off starting the barrel off on lead rather than plastic.
