Ok guy's after this year with the rem. 700 smoke pole im going smokeless. I already have a rem 700 with the hunter bolt nose and the savage breech plug. would it be cheaper for me to get a pre fit pacnor barrel and different stock or go with the cva conversion to 45 cal. I would like to shot this sabot less as well.

Well that is a toss up IMO.

If you go with the Apex and a Hankins LRMP system, you are looking at around $850. A Savage plug conversion is about $200 less. Personally, i would not shoot the break action conversions as fast sabotless as the Rem or Savage conversions.

The McGowen barrels are often sized very well for easy sabotless use. Many guys are reporting no sizing needed with some bullets. The Pacnors run tighter, mine requires sizing. Not sure on the Brux barrels but they look good too and seem to shoot great. Adjustable sizing dies are $130+ so figure that in too if you plan on a Pacnor.
