Not the greatest day for my first range trip after my very quick initial testing the day before but I had to go out and shoot this thing :partyman: . I borrowed an Omega scope off my BuckHunter until I figure out what scope I want on this rifle. Stiff wind at my back reeking havoc at my table, it was hard to keep my items from being gone with the wind.

My first shot out of the McRem the previous day was not quite what I expected. I've never had a keyhole before, it seems this rifle does not like MMP sabots (used the MMP to foul the bore to save the Harvesters). I scratched my head for a few mins and decided to load the 200gr SST with a Harvester smooth blue sabot, much better, no keyholes.

I'm still using the factory stock, barrel channel sanded to fit the barrel, no bedding. I'm quite happy so far. After some tweaking and possibly a new trigger and stock, I think this build is gonna be a great shooter :yeah:

That 250 TEZ load looks good. I shoot the same bullet with 10 SR4759 and 50 IMR4198. That first shot with the keyhole may have blown the sabot. Most of the smokeless guys like the light blue Harvester better.

Thanks for the report!

That flier is very odd... I wouldn't loose to much sleep over it as the rest went fine.

Your going to love that barrel! Mine is boring accurate, makes load development easy when it likes everything.

Is that a 1-20 twist barrel.

1-22 twist, 8 groove, McGowen barrel, I'm very happy with it so far :D

I tried to find the sabot but no luck. It was a very quick first try. Cleaned the barrel out the next day just to make sure it didn't foul the bore with plastic.

Sure wish I could find some 4759, no luck. I did get some International clays for a booster. I will try 5gr with 55gr of IMR4198 and see how it does.

I'm liking the smokeless especially after finding out my BH209 went up another 5 bucks per 10oz, $39.99, time to look for some 5lb jugs :d'oh!:

Best place to guy BH209 is from Carlos at Ed's Gun Shop. Not sure if he has the 5 lb. jugs right now but they were about $200 but I think there was a small price increase. Even with shipping he is usually cheaper.

I got lucky and found another pound of SR4759 a few weeks ago so I'm set. Will let you know if I run across any.
