I see the discontinued Savage 10ml ll is still available, but there has to be other manufactures that make muzzleloaders that accept the smokeless powder?

Thanks!

Any Savage or Stevens centerfire can be converted. Also a Remington 700ml can be converted. I have a Steven's 200 that was a .308 and now is a .45 smokeless.

One of my "clients" has a nice one. He calls it a "Swinglock". Pricey but streamly accurate. W

Swinglock is probably the cream of the crop and totally unique in design and safety. IMO they are absolutely beautiful also.

Personally, i love the NULAs the most for hunting. Super light weight but shoot as well as a heavier gun. The breach plugs last nearly indefinitely. The stock and full length bedding job on mine is A++. Tolerances are fantastic and the action is butter smooth. The only thing i don't like is the ram rod, its junk.

That's easy to rectify.

Have them make you a new ramrod and get one of the correct jags. You will be pleased....

LOL

I just use my Knight Range rod at camp and i have a cheaper aluminum range rod in my elevated box stands. I just keep the jag in my pocket with the ball starter. :D I do have an original XS Sites rod i can use with a grommet in the ferrel to hold it in place. The Spinjags are excellent.

So correct me if I'm wrong but you can use any savage center fire rifle and convert it to a smokeless ml?

So any 223 243 308 30-06 savage will work? I need to start looking for another rifle so I can use a pacnor mcgowen barrel from Luke?

Yes find yourself any short action (223,243,7-08,308, etc) not a long action (30-06,7mm,300). I went with a 308 as it only took a day to sell off the parts I had no use for, barrel, bolt head, magazine. But you could always keep those parts and switch back and forth. My savage 270 wsm I used to switch back and for components to make it a 204 ruger for prairie dog hunting. And Luke has everything you need (barrel, 209 bolt head, breach plug). It was a fun project and I couldn't be any more thrilled by the way mine turned out. I went with a McGowan barrel since my goal was to shoot sabotless.

That sounds awesome I'm going to start looking now! Thanks!

No problem, let me know if you have anymore questions. I am by no means an expert but I read and researched all I could find for 3 years before starting this project.

I found a stainless Rem 700ml locally for $250 walked out of the pawn shop smiling ear to ear! Can't wait to finish my second build! This stuff is expensive and addictive!
