Son brought this home, too. No model name, 50cal, and that "funky," case colored rear sight. Serial #K138xxx. So what did Grandpa buy him?

Thanks,
Jim

that is a T/C Hawken model. the funky rear sight is a very mangled up and mistreated T/C 'Primitive' sight commonly used in matches where adjustable sights aren't allowed. can't tell for sure but, the lock plate appears to be smooth. if so, it's been replaced. looks like a Lyman lock but, might also be an L&R or some other RPL for T/C's.

P.S. : from the stock profile & other subtle features it appears to be a fairly early model.

P.P.S : the "K" in the serial number indicates it was a kit gun.

Bubba, thanks so much!! The lock plate has no engraving and rear sight confused my limited knowledge.
