Hi, I just purchased a CVA Optima V2, that came with the scope mount factory installed . First does anyone have any advice as to the Brand and model of scope that works well with this model rifle? and two I'd like to replace the factory mount with open ring mounts so I can install open sights . I've always have both on my rifles. Thanks newby to Black Powder

I use a 3-9x40mm on my Optima. As for putting see through scope mounts I would not do it. Keep that scope as close to the barrel as you can and learn to use low powder magnification instead of the open sights. If you want open sight.. take the scope off and pick the kind you want. Try Tru Glow sights... I think they have ones that fit the rifle.
