After we get the server errors under control, is there any chance we can get a easy way to embed Youtube vids?

Ive read the instructions for making it work with pHpBB3 and its fairly simple to enable the feature and the "button".. Its a feature that is disabled by default by pHp and only requires a few small lines of BBcode added. None of the Youtube share/embed scripts work. Ive tried all the typical BBC scripts and none of them will work without a small change on the admin end.

Thank You Hall and Matt.

Tutorial for a custom BBcode so you don't have to use the YouTube embed feature which could be abused.

Fine tuning video since Youtube also has a .be. It needs a "wildcard" to cover all of them.

As you can see ourFlash button does not work with Youtube.

For people that look up at this later it works now.

How To:
1) Select the "YouTube" button above the description box
2) enter the Video ID between the brackets.
- Video ID is the part after "watch?v=" in the YouTube URL: example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oB9JpI_JlAw the id is oB9JpI_JlAw
3) Enjoy

Thanks Matt. im not a total novice when it comes to a slight understanding of "scripts". A long long time ago i was a IRC script "kiddie" and raised hell on MS's chat server cluster.

I hope the tutorial videos helped and your solution is just fine and easy enough for me and the mods to explain to others having problems. I just hated posting a video but had to open a new Firefox window or tab to view it.

Great work and the forum seems to run very very well. I kinda prefer Ubuntu Linux for some things. Evidently pHpBB likes Linux too. Certain types of communication between Windows and Linux is sometimes very buggy/frustrating.
