Having Issues connecting to Modern Muzzleloader

Postby edmehlig » Fri Aug 02, 2013 8:02 am

Don't know what is going on, but lately both of my computers are taking a long time to connect to and open posts on Modern Muzzleloader. Is anyone else experiencing this? If not any suggestions?

Thanks...Ed

Same here also. But I seem to be getting slower at all sites. Even though the satellite company increased my speed. But have you noticed how many pop up windows are hitting and these survey windows that suddenly appear. All of that slows down the connection to the actual site you want to visit.
My short-term memory is not as sharp as it used to be.

I don't seem to have problems with other sites Dave, just this one. At times it works great, but last night it slowed down again, and I gave up trying to get on... This morning it is starting to pick up again..

I just tried it and it loaded for me immediately. Even went to Unread Posts and to this post within 2 seconds. Are you guys still having issues?

I noticed the same thing -- someone messing with all who are trying to connect to the site?
The connection seems to be better today.

Hey guys - I double checked the site stats and it seems that everything is running smooth / acting quick again. I did notice that the daily backup was set to about lunch time so I moved it to trigger after midnight which would cause some slows downs for a majority of the functionality of the site. (which would explain why it would run slow sometimes and not others).

If you continue to have slow issues, next time you can post can you let me know what time it is revolving around? This will help in troubleshooting with the hosting provider.

Thanks!
- Matt

Here is an email I got from Matt:

Recent feed back seems to be that it is speeding up again. The backup was setup for lunchtime each day so i'm not sure how long it runs but that could impact it.

Also I noticed we have blocked >25k spam attempts and depending on when they were "targeting" us - that could slow down the site too. Additionally, it could be the host server.

Hey Guys -

We are running into some issues with the hosting site - causing people to see a "500 Internal Server Error". We have proven it isn't our site, our data, our access - so we are working with the hosting site to troubleshoot on their end.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
