I have a CVA optima pro bought in 2006. Can I buy a breach plug to allow me to shot BH-209 loose powder? Have seen a few ads most say 2010 or newer

CVA does not sell a BH209 plug for pre Quick Release plug models. The earlier OEM plug can be modified to work very well with BH209.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I guess I will be off to see a gunsmith after the Muzzleloading deer season here and see what can be done.

The photo shows the CVA plug on the right, modified at center, to look like the TC Omega plug on the left.

This makes the CVA plug 100% reliable igniting Blackhorn powder. Hundreds of shooters use this modification, which involves installing a vent liner, to successfully burn Blackhorn powder. Linkey shows one way for a shooter to do the work.

Thanks for the picture I definitely want to go this route instead of a new gun. Will look into having it done
