Muzzy Squirrel hunt

Postby pjsoden » Wed Oct 04, 2017 1:44 pm

Headed out solo today down in my neck of the woods. Saw 6, got 1 and missed 2. Weather was great and had a nice morning out in the woods! The GM .32 strikes again. Tried to post a pic, but it said the file is too large. And I have no idea how to reduce it on my iPad

Way to go Pete. :yeah: Can't help with the iPad thing. Don't have one.

Got a couple days off so hoping to go to the range in the morning. Want to shoot my 32's if the wind is good.

Green Mountain .32 Cal? Is it a 1" drop in they did for the TC Hawken/Renegades? What is the Twist rate?

I'm interested in the answer to that question myself. Green Mountain made 32 caliber drop in barrels for 15/16" a 1" stocks but they also put out a limited edition of the 32 with a 24" octagon barrel with 1-48" twist matched up with a Knight DISC Extreme action.

Nope. He has one of the rare GMB 32s. They are a copy of the Knight disc rifle. Bolt action. 209 primer. If I recall right they are a 48 twist.

Sort of a little brother of the GMB 54-120.

Both rifles were limited production.

Shawn it correct. This is not the drop in barrel they made for some TC’s
By the way, I went out for a couple hours this morning, only saw one squirrel and he came home with me. Head shot at 25 yards.

Now I remember. Might have to try some in the Marathon if I don't opt to rebarrel.

That's on nice looking rifle. They only made 250 of them so I know you don't have more than a 3 digit serial number.

Shawn, thanks for posting the pic.
When I spoke to Branch at Green Mountain after I got mine, he told me they were going to make 250 but only made 150 of these beauty’s.

Wow. I knew it was rare but that is even more so. I emailed them a few weeks ago when I was trying to get a GMB 54-120 that was on gunbroker. They emailed back quickly but told me "while GM may have made the GMB 54-120 they had no record of them". :(

If I were you I would never part with that little rifle. Just too cool of a rifle.  I do appreciate seeing it used and cared for instead of being a safe queen too. Chasing Tree rats is what it was made for! :yeah:

I searched for years for one, tracked down several owners, former employees..etc there were a few more pieced together by employees, but none of them would even consider selling. even found a guy with several NIB. Surprised myself even with my ability to track down info. Finally came to the conclusion nobody was ever going to sell one again. Best chance there is find a grieving widow. Thats when I had the Mountaineer conversion made. I DID manage to get a hold of a Knight .36, but the .32 are almost like a myth :D
