I would buy a proven brand of scope like a Leupold, even if it means i had to wait and save up for it. The old saying ‘Buy once, Cry once’ Comes to mind here.

In the early 90's I had a Simmons sighted in, went hunting and like magic it was 15 inches too high the very next day. I am very protective of my equipment and the only thing I could think happened was the adjustment finally caught up to itself. My friend has a Bushnell that will not keep center, yet another friend loves his Bushnell (same scope, purchased at the same time). In the 70's when the majority of scopes were made here or Japan, they were simply better made products. Now with the majority of scopes made in some 3rd world toilet the quality is questionable at best. I have owned a Leupold M8 EER for a number of years and it has never given me an ounce of trouble. I'm conservative (more like super tight with my money), so I bought the Leupold used...I would rather have a quality used scope over a new junk scope any day of the week. If money is an issue, put out a request on one of the forums for a good used scope. I paid $100 for my Leupold used, well worth 2X as much as no name brand.
The Simmons Pro Hunter is a good scope, better than some that cost 3-4 times as much. One of my inline guns has worn that scope for many years and at least 1000 rounds. The Simmons 4x32 is the best super cheap scope i ever tried.
