1x scope rules

Hello, trying to find info on what is required for a scope to be legal for a 1x scope muzzle loader hunt. Could I take a variable and epoxy it permanently at 1x? I've heard the night forces were variables that were modified at the factory. There isn't much on the market and I cant find anything that I would trust on a hunt.

Best to check your local game laws or talk to a game warden in your area.
Fixed power scopes are sadly becoming a dinosaur these days.
