Getting rid of some 3fg Triple7 Powder today

Found some in a flask today and decided to get rid of that stuff the fun way! Super windy, but still very warm and enjoyable. I also cut at the muzzle today. On the bench, accuracy was ok, nothing great to get my panties in a bunch, but still nice to shoot. Off hand I did a mix of 60 and 70gr charges. 70gr was way to much! we're talking 8" groups off hand. Once I dropped down to 60gr and the wind settled a bit, accuracy started to come back. The best part... All that T7 is gone and I have room on the shelf again.

THIS! is the way WE get rid of black powder, 5-8oz of cannon grade, 14-16# bowling ball over 1 1/2 mile. This was a project of mine and a retired welder in his shop back in '16 and '17. Invited to cookouts, rondys, a wedding and several 4th of July parades. I suppose I should have put this in the project forum. Drop tube and long funnel to load in the most elevated the design would allow, place the ball in then Push the ball to rest on the powder with a long rod with a ezout that fit one of he finger holes then adjust to whatever degree of trajectory you're comfortable with. Cannon fuse and touch hole, very exciting. We just sold it to a deputy sheriff as the novelty had worn off. A good friend in SD decided to make one also and his first invite was a wedding and quite an event. The host had an old dilapidated blg to be torn down a short distance from his house on the farm. After several (at least) toasts to the newly weds he was challenged as to the penetration of his cannon. Went through the entire old house and into the stock pond beyond, totally forgot about the antique piano his wife was to have restored being within. His wife was not forewarned and was in the house with most of the ladies in attendance. She came out visually upset (screaming) that it had shook all of the windows and rattled the dishes consequently scaring the s___t out of them. Pat decided it was a good time to hook up and get out of Dodge. LOL
