We went fishing back at Cedar Key pier on Sat.
A/C was up ( as much as he hates it ) super early & was at my place ( a45 min drive ) at around 7:30am. I was pretty much ready to go when he got here which is a rare treat for him lol
After the 102mi truck ride & gettin super lucky with a parking spot almost right across from the pier, we got lines wet. Wellllll he did, I had 2 poles to rig before I would put one in the water……. Remember reading about a certain someone’s fishing pole magically goin flyin over the pier railing in a split second awhile back?????
We had some live shrimp we stopped & bought. Good thing too bc we didn’t catch but 1 tiny shrimp ( a shrimp shrimp, a shrimpette ) when cast netting for bait. We were given 2 small mullet for cut bait & we cut up a decent sized Whiting A/C caught for bait too. I caught a Guppy sized catfish which barely qualified as gettin the skunk off, and I caught my very first Bonnethead shark. It was a youngin about 18” long.
I got the new circle hook out without harming the little guy & he was released. Just Like Free Willy, except for much much much smaller. And as unbelievably retarded as that song Baby Shark is, I somehow couldn’t keep myself from singing it which had us both LOLing hysterically. The weather was outstanding even though fishing was slower than a Biden speech.
We still had a wonderful day & ended it as usual -with 2 lg chocolate milkshakes on the long ride back.
Here’s my shark pics.
Ask A/C where are all of his fish pics.

Hey now I not only got a dink catfish and that small whiting but I managed to loose my wedding ring after 24 years of not taking it off
I felt horrible for you when I saw your ring go flying off when you cast the throw net. Just be thankful that you have a cool wife that didn't go postal on you for that lil snafu. Some fellers would be terrified to go back home after that, now those guys I'd really LMAO at

Readheaded Puerto Rican - And I have the bruises to prove it

Fortunately, she has lost a plain gold band, the diamond out of her engagement ring, and half the pair of earrings I had custom made from some garnets I found while at summer camp in North Carolina. She also dropped her engagement ring in the toilet, took a bit to retrieve that.

So at least on the scale of "lost important jewelry" I am still way ahead

If it was in the nose like the warden makes me wear mine, you'd have never lost it. Need a piercing specialist?
nope

but assuming it didnt end up wrapped around a crab or something i know a 3 square foot area that it is and ive been thinking of a tool to make to try and retrieve it

bottom is all muddy silt stuff, so im thinking something like a chicken wire mesh scoop on a stout pole/stick/handle, like a sand flea rake

Hopefully not too deep. I lost mine in a cornfield while field dressing a deer. Took it off before the autopsy and set it on my PU truck bumper. Forgot about it when I left for the evening. Somewhere on that property lies the ring, 2 old Motorola radios, a few knives, and who knows what else. Dressing out deer can very expensive.

Wet mud at low tide several times per month
