I find my CVA 50 optima really likes the 300 grain platinums with 2 X 50 triple seven
I shot a deer at 75 yards with through pass threw on a lung shot, she ran up hill for 10 yards and down hill 20 yards. She was dead when I got to her.
I zero and practice with 295 HP to save money and confirm zero with 2 platinum shots. And use the platinum's for hunting
With this approach I find that a "card" of platinums last 3 years or more as I only use 4-6 per year making cost a minor issue
Every deer I have shot with this combo has dropped the deer within 30 yards

Montveil, I'm glad to here how you practice with the hps and then use the platinum for hunting, I also do some of the same, but with different projectiles. :rendeer:

congrats on the kill. i havent shot the platinums into anything yet but plan on doing so sometime next year hopefully.
