Remington 700 ML
Installed stainless 209 conversion kit .
Removed guard screw before realizing I didnt have to for conversion.
Got finished with install, ramrod wont slide all the way back in, stops about an inch short. Any ideas appreciared.

Your 209 conversion should have nothing at all to do with installing your ramrod!
Did you have the action out of the stock? Something in the stock is blocking your ramrod from going all the way in. Check it out. Possible your ramrod spring is out of line or the ramrod spring screw came loose and is protruding preventing you from installing the ramrod.

Remove the stock and slide the ramrod into the stock slowly to see if it is hitting something, as bronko... said above.

I had to use a Dremel tool to solve this problem on one of my stocks last week. Take out just a tiny amount of material near the recoil lug channel if necessary, and try it again.

thank you I did remove the guard screw before I realized I didn’t have to put it back in. That’s the only thing out of the ordinary but that have anything to do with it?

only thing I removed was the bolt, I didn’t think what I was doing. Had anything to do with the rim rod, but for some reason it won’t slide all the way back in.
