Scope mounts for Savage 10ML-II

I just ran across a Picatinny Rail Scope Mount that might be good for some ML-II users that use long eye relief scopes. I just picked up a Nikon Omega 1.65-5x36 with long eye relief and am thinking to send it back because of the long eye releif. This would put the scope an inch further forward than most scopes. But with a mount that has a longer froward adjustment range might be something to consider before sending the scope back.

Here it is: http://www.egwguns.com/savage/hd-f-clas ... ope-mount/

It can be made from either solid 7075 T6 (max hardness) aircraft grade aluminum or solid pre-hardened 4140 chromoly steel.

If anyone has other mounts that work for you please post them.

I know the EGW one piece rail has been recommended for those that don't want to spend a fortune. I thought they offered another one too without the extension. I had actually forgotten about them....thanks for the reminder.

These are cheaper but its not nearly as nice as the EGW.

Warne has a carbon steel one piece.

Weaver has one too but is pretty low grade IMO. The crosscuts are not fully supported like true picatinny slots. The MLII and 300gr bullet loads are very hard on cheap bases/rings and scopes. Bedding the base is also recommended but its not always needed. Some MLII exterior tolerances were not the best and bedding the base is cheap insurance.

I looked at the weavers also and I agree that they are lower quality. Mounts are the backbone that hold scope rings in place and I feel it is best to look for good quality.

What is recommended for bedding a mount?

Cameron's bedding method is the same one I've used for the last half decade when I can't file and lap a mount to fit. Even as nice and precise as Cameron's mounts are they require bedding do to inconsistent/inaccurate dimensions of receivers due to heat treating and polishing.
