This bullet is basically the same bullet as shot yesterday; the difference being it doesn't have the hollow point.

The bullet was shot into the trap from 25 yard away. The powder charge was 50 grain Blackhorn. Speed could have been around 1140 fps at impact. The bullet wasn't caught; it was stopped.

Interesting, I would have guessed it would expand more than that without the hollow point. Nice test.

Thank's Art.

Well i have been installing full extension drawer slides into our existing kitchen cabinets. Interesting to say the least. Made the drawers; that was easy, dimensions must be met. Three sets of drawers. Matching stain is so very hard for me. She will be able to access all her pots, pans, and such, whilst standing. Wow will i ever be free to hunt whilst she is happy happy.

After Ron tested my 50/475 with the 1/8" HP - I'm not surprised at this result - very similar to this solid. Penetrating thru his test.
I think for big game, it will drive deep and certainly expand if it starts to hit bone.

Ron, I wish there was a section on all your bullet tests. I can't remember but have any of the non hollow point conicals you have tried expanded much?

Not with this load of 35gr W/ 50gr V, nor the bullets with ballistic tips.
Ron tested with 56gr/80grV and they did well.

Not with this load of 35gr W/ 50gr V, nor the bullets with ballistic tips and some others. I've looked at all of them lately while we're experimenting.
