There are a few more too. Actually quite a few more so post up what you want.

Some places have better ones than others. I got some seeds from a vendor in Illinois that came from seed stock no longer sold by pepperlover for 1 example. Ive got Aleppo seeds (from Syria) and a spicy bell from Turkey that are likely better than you will find online too. A super sweet bell with solid jalapeno heat is out of sight!!! The vendor that had the really good ones has been out for a year or more.

I started My Rocoto Seeds, and my Little Thai’s last night. They are in the Sweaty/Balmy Mini Green House Dome Now on top of my Seed Germination Heat Pad. Hopefully they Come up as well as everything else has for Me. My C. Reapers are GOING Like Wildfire now!

Starting Aji Oro and the nasty brown bhuts first. Picking up a small plastic shelving unit and mylar tomorrow for the warm room. Temps today in the rest of the basement are only 63F and i dont want to mess around with a small space heater.

Fingers Crossed on those Aji Oro! If they do good for you, I’m gonna Beg you for some Seed Next year! I looked high, and Low, and I couldn’t find any Aji Oro seed ANYWHERE? I signed up to be notified etc. and Nothing

I got a few in a trade. All i need is a couple plants. As soon as i get some to sprout and look like they will make it i can share some. Just checked to be sure...Not sure if i have even 10 seeds that look really good. I will try getting 4 started this week.

I can ask on thehotpepper forum if you really want some.

Thank you my friend! No worries this year, i have more stuff going on now than i can handle :D The Aji Oro had my attention due to what i Read on pepper lover, Their Description is AWESOME on that Variety.

You are probably getting SICK of seeing these C. Reapers huh? :p I need some more plants to come up so i can Quit taking pics of these! :D

These things are getting with it! They are really bulking up nice, They definitely like this Agrobrite T5 Setup. I let these guy’s Dry almost out, then i give them a Good thorough Watering. My house is now Heated by Wood Stove, So it’s a nice Dry Heat, and Stays 70 about constant, About 4, maybe 5 days and i have to Water.

(Sigh)
Im upto almost 50 plants on my list and dad wants a Reaper now. 4 im getting as seedlings locally since they have always been good. 4 are already started and doing well. Pulled the rest of my seeds today. So that is around 40 seeds i need to germinate and get to seedling size.

I got space for 51 plants max unless i get more pots or bags.

Well poo.

Got 6 coming from Chileplants.com
2 Reapers from CCN strain...they are out of Smokin Eds for the season
2 Dragons Breath...supposedly Pepperlovers strain and supposed to be crazy hot.
A couple Hungarian hot banana/wax...1 of each kind they carry.

Dropped the ghost this year since i just use it to "spike" other sauces.

Ive had tiny plants with blooms on them but those are very young. In your case i would leave them alone just because of your short growing season. Hand pollinate them if you wish with a Q-Tip after the flower opens up. Lots of guys remove early buds so the plant devotes more energy to growth instead of blooms/pods.

Jump to the 2min mark...its super simple to do.

Sleeper nachos....Why sleeper?...Well jalapenoes are not that hot but these got a few zippy ones in the bunch i bought. What really made it though is my powder blend of mostly mildish peppers and just a tiny bit of ghost pepper powder. :D Most of the pepper powder is in the melted cheese.

I had some Nachos today as well, but mine didn’t look that good! I didn’t have any Jalapeño Slices, I Will be happy when i have Fresh ones, COME ON SPRING :D

Local market had them. These are salted lime i make up.

Slice jalapenos and add kosher salt...about 1-2 tsp for a pound
Let them set about an hour. Mix them up every 15min
They will release a bunch of liquid.
Remove them with a slotted spoon trying to let the liquid drain off some. Dont toss the liquid yet.
Add fresh lime juice to the jalapeno slices. About 1 lime and about half as much cider vinegar.
Mix it up and let it set another 30min then taste the brine.
Adjust with the salty jala juice and a little water according to your taste.
Finely minced red onion (optional)
Toss them in the fridge....better the next day and they will keep for atleast a couple weeks.

My new Rocotos were a BUST! DARN IT!! The seeds have been going about 2 full weeks now, i checked 1 for viability? It was Molded and no form of life? Just a Hull, i started going through some others, EVERY SINGLE seed was Moldy and no form of life in them? I had started some of my little Thai seeds along with the Rocotos, And every single seed came up in 7-8 Days. BUMMER on the Rocotos!! I won’t have any this year, I could always start some of my Mini Reds from Seed i saved last year, But not sure i will? I think i will Focus on the Zapotec Jalapeño’s and a Few of my other a Jalapeño Varieties. They are my Best bet here with our Short Grow season. I will get back after The Rocoto’s Next year

I'm sure y'all are familiar with the Scoville rating system for peppers, but have you heard of the Winter rating? Here's how it's done.
Fix your favorite butt-burning recipe and eat your fill. When nature calls, go out to the woods to relieve yourself. Count how many winters you can warm your hands over it. ;)o_O

To prevent mold on seeds you can use a peroxide and water solution. Rinse seeds after or soak in some plain water to soften the seed. Then plant. You can also use a weak solution to hydrate the jiffy pellets to cut down on mold.

This is why i like the paper towel method. Its very easy to inspect them for mold and sprouting. You are not wasting additional space or cubes either. My oven will stay in the mild 80s with just the oven light on. Any warm spot works like the back top of a refrigerator or even on top of a hot water heater if your basement isnt cold.

I wish i had done the paper towel method with these 2 new Rocoto variety Seeds, But i have had such great luck going straight to the jiffy pellets that I didn’t even think to try any other way? I stil might try and start a few of my Mini Red Rocotos from last year, i saved back plenty of seed from my Best few plants, As you seen The mini reds did REALLY well for me. I stil have plenty of time! The Mira Flores Market Rocotos did pretty darn good for me as well, But there was a very noticeable difference in the Mini Reds and the Mira Flores, The Mini reds outperformed them by a large Margin, The Mira Flores took longer, but finally Grabbed hold and took off. Gotta love this stuff!!! :)

This vinegar solution you speak of REALLY interests me, Mold is something i Have dealt with EVERYTIME with the Jiffy Pellets in the Green house Dome setup, I have wondered how the heck to combat it? How would you know the Ratio of vinegar to use? There has to be a fine line here, I have used vinegar to Kill weeds and it does a good job!

50/50 soak of Hydrogen Peroxide 3%/Water. Same stuff you get at most drug stores is 3%. Around 10min-15min is enough to kill anything on the seeds.

For the pellets its like a 1/4cup to 1 quart of water ratio and let them set for at least a few hours.

Trimmed back the girls again. One of these might be something else though. The 1 pod i got earlier was orange and fully ripe but the shape was just like a mini red. It was quite hot too.
