The Arrowhead Gen2 LRMP replacement for the QRBP is now in stock. Still haven't gotten my hands on a Paramount, so no eta on the upgrade for that. Should have just ordered one at full retail instead of waiting for one of my distributors to get one.

How do those Modules seal in the BP to prevent Blowback? I've never see one n person yet.

Does the breech plug have the sealing surface on the powder end like the factory plugs? Any pics of that end of the plug?

Gen2 plug with the bushing inserted from the primer end? Which bushing are you using?

No, it's setup to seal on the back. Yes, gen2. 0.035" bushing installed from the primer side. I'll get some more pictures taken in the next couple days.

Description
Requires use of flat pry bar (or flat head screw driver) to extract modules after firing.

??????

Had to laugh. My breech plugs using cartridges are not too dissimilar. To remove the spent cartridges I insert a 1/4" brass rod in the muzzle.

The breech plugs cost me a couple of bucks for a grade 8 bolt, 5/8 x 18 TPI x 2" long, and some lathe time.

I went to the web site. Nice breech plugs, but pricey.

You can't pull modules out of BP by hand, so you need something to pop them loose-just like you need to do with a tight 209 primer pocket.

At first I thought this plug might be the cat's whiskers but after seeing that 20 of the inserts cost $110.00 need a tool to remove them I've changed my mind. I hunt and a spent primer falling in the leaves won't gripe me much but $5.50.....naw, I'll pass. My plugs all seal just fine and they're either a compatible 209 plug or an original that's been drilled and tapped for a vent liner. In all of my CVA inlines 209 primer shoot very clean now and can be plucked from the plug with finger tips.

Primer removal tools have been around for a long time. And, I can't count the number of times I've had to pry off a fired cap off a percussion rifle. I've also had 209 primers stick that had to be removed with a jack knife. I've gas cut more breech plugs than the law should allow. I think I kept one of the local sports shop alive by buying replacement breech plugs LOL

Obviously I've never used the modules in a tip open, but I have in a bolt. I'll never go back to just primers. If anything, its a very minor inconvenience for a perfect system that nothing will ever require replacement, certainly no replacing vent liners, "O" rings, or entire plugs because the flash hole is worn out. Send 1,000 rounds and no worries about a breech plug.

I use the ASG Gen2 LRMP systems in my converted 45-70 CVA Apex's. It works great, no blowback and I shouldn't have to worry about my rifle going off in frigid weather :lewis: I also reload for my 45-70 Marlin, so I already had the equipment for priming my modules which are based on a 45-70 shell case.

What size are the modules being used in these breech plugs?

Yep, unless you've soaked your powder, you're going to get a bang with this system.

I plan on sending the 308 case head size as it allows a little more room for accessing module, but no problem sending in 45/70 instead.

Might be OK for the range, but not for hunting situations with a second shot needed. NO thanks!!

Pry bar probably isn't best description, all you're doing is giving the module a little pop to loosen. You can even use the tool that CVA already sends with the accura and paramount.

That sounds much better. I can just pick off the 209 primer with fingers with no tool now in my Optima V2. No blow back and I can live with cleaning the vent liners. Cost is way too much....

But, I do like the idea over all! Maybe later...

If you bench shoot might be great but cant see screwing with it in a tree stand as said a dropped primer no big deal but if your dropping 6 bucks a pop naw I will pass, great fix though for those that can/want to use it.. I have had to use a tool or knife very few times to remove a spent primer in all my years hunting/shooting it has happened but not enough for me to switch to modules.
