New toy.

I am taking my muzzleloader on a bison hunt this October, and the guide said I need to have a backup rifle, also.
I didn't have anything bigger than a 22, so I started looking around and settled on this beast.
Easy sell to my wife, "I need to have it for safety, guide said so!"
Cant wait to shoot it.
Thinking I will sight in with 405gr Remington core lokts.

Those sure are a purty rifle. So far the only thing I heard sort of negative was a heavy trigger pull. Will be quite interested in your range report. Good luck with it and the Hunt.

Nice rifle! I don't have a Henry but I love my 45-70. It fits right in with the 45 and 50 cal. muzzleloaders I have.

I agree. I feel like it kind of falls in line with my traditional stuff.

Any chance you can measure the breach OD with a micrometer? I need to know the diameter of the barrel where is surrounds the cartridge. These rifles have been mentioned before for a possible conversion to a ML and knowing the OD would be helpful info. Currently available 45/70 single shots such as the CVA Scout/Hunter are only 1"

I don't have one, but I think a buddy does. When the gun comes in, I will try to do it for you.
