Afternoon: Aside from being different makers what are the main differences between the White Thunderbolt and a Knight Muzzleloader that utilizes a bolt type action? Starting to realize finding a Thunderbolt will take time ( I have not given up ) and have seen some Knights on here that utilize a bolt type action. Any comments on pro's and con's between the 2 will be appreciated.

The vast majority of Knight 50cals are 1-28 twist vs 1-24 for White. Most Knight 45s are 1-30 twist vs the 1-20 but they do have 1-20s also. My biggest complaint is i would prefer 2 action screws instead of 1. It works i just like 2 better. I also do like a 1-24 for 50cal but its not really a huge deal.

Evening: Being somewhat new to muzzleloading I don't know what you mean by 2 action screws instead of 1. Thank you for your reply.

Barrels are different, knight uses green mountain the tbolts are Wilson and clerks.
White uses 7 grove truncated rifling ,24/26 inch barrels, 209 and a 336 primer system . I haven't had a knight yet but I'm sure there are more differences. If all your looking for is a bolt muzzy, dont count out a older Remington 700 muzzleloader .

DISC type action based Knights can also be converted to several ignition types

Red full plastic jacket aka FPJ
Bare 209 primer. There are 2 ways to accomplish this.
Western legal percussion with either musket caps or #11 caps

New Knights and i think the most recent White triggers are Timney. Older White triggers are Bold and older Knight DISC triggers are a Timney knock off made by Velocity trigger. (Vehr Manufacturing) The owner Tom Vehr worked for Timney and Knight for awhile too making triggers.

Knight DISCs are a one piece barrel and action. I think the Thunder Bolt has a barrel threaded to the action which is a very nice feature.

As mentioned you can get a true bolt action ML. The new Rem UML is nothing more than a single shot Rem700 action and a ML barrel on it. Nearly any part that fits a Rem700 will fit them. The older Rem700ML is a little different. No locking lugs but still a nice platform with a couple upgrades. HUGE aftermarket options for anything Rem700 based.

Thanks for the info, but I think I will hold out for a White Thunderbolt.

I only know of three members on here that have a thunder bolt . Red pep, Doug Swartz and myself( or so they did at one point ). Maybe send them a pm to see if they want to sell.
The white bold trigger is very nice . In my eye slightly better then timney.

I doubt Doug will sale that Tbolt. I sold it to him for a special reason and If he does part with it I had an agreement with him that it comes back to me

Sorry sharpshooter, I didnt mean to create any issues . Mods can remove my post if needed

I know the guy in Canada that has 2 Tbolts a 410 and the 451 could have had the 504 but passed on it.
