Hello All,

I was wondering if it was possible to change the barrel on my Hawken rifle from a 50 cal to a 32 cal (...or any other caliber, assuming that it fits the stock correctly). I was just wondering since the barrel comes off so easily.
Thanks.

Don’t know what Hawken you have but, at one time Green Mountain made 32 and 36 caliber drop-in barrels for TC Hawken and Renegade guns. They weighed a ton and totally threw the balance of the gun off. My opinion and yer welcome to it.

It's an Investarms 50 cal. Sorry. I should have mentioned that in my original post.

The Investarms guns are basically clones of the TC’s with slight changes for patent or copyright purposes so, the GM drop-ins will fit those too but may need a bit of work to fit the slight differences. Usually nothing more than a file stroke or two on the hook to fit the Investarm tang is needed.

But GM no longer makes them so you’d hafta find one used or new-old-stock. Or find a breechplug and have one made.

Track of the Wolf has some of the drop in barrels for your TC. I am fixing to get a .50 cal for my .45. $269.99

Rice makes them, Jim Carpenter here in St Maries Idaho Can Make them as well, You have to Supply the Breech Plug with Jim. I had Jim build me a Fast Twist .36 Cal (it’s actually a 35 Cal, 9MM) I have Several Green Mountain Drop in Barrels, and 1 Rice .45 Cal 1:20 Twist Drop in, They all shoot really well, But The Rice DEFINITELY has an Edge over my Green Mountain. My Rice is one of the Most Accurate Muzzleloaders i own, if not the most. It is Definitely one of my TOP DOGS :lewis:
