I want to put a Lyman 57 on my Super 91. Will it require notching the stock?
If it’s not already notched yes. Most are notched alreadyI want to put a Lyman 57 on my Super 91. Will it require notching the stock?
Go with a sight that fits on a weaver base such as a Williams or XS , NECG etc. several out thereDang, I hate to notch an unfired pristine Super. Any other suggestions?
I can trade with you for a stock that is already notched and not pristine, then you won't feel bad.
Mighty nice of you Art.I can trade with you for a stock that is already notched and not pristine, then you won't feel bad.
Right ! Dirty being the key partI like to think of it as being part of the brotherhood of the DWB's
It's only unfired until you load it and pull the trigger. If you're worried about making personal touches to the rifle, you might as well put it on Gun Broker. With that being said, I have S91's that needed to be notched, and a couple that didn't.Dang, I hate to notch an unfired pristine Super. Any other suggestions?
I don't think you will hurt the value of your rifle by making a notch for the lyman sight if you take your time and do a professional looking job. I'd use a file or fine rasp. There are plenty of pics if you need to see what the notch looks like.
