490FBE2E-4484-4683-9161-689E2C9C6DC8.jpeg Got my mullie, nothing fancy, just a nice heavy bodied meat deer. My better half and I used the “gutless method” to break the deer down on the spot and place into game bags for cooling/carry back to the truck. First time using this method and worked quite well I must say. That Two Feathers hand made knife went to work once again (two elk, a moose, bear and deer all completely dressed and broke down with nothing but touch-up between each animal!) and proved itself remaining true to past performance. I’ve said it before, but I really like this knife! It’s his Roach Belly model and very reasonably priced. Anyhow, now to start cutting and wrapping.
Seasons over for me, good luck to all and keep them stories/pictures coming.

Nice! Is there much of a difference in taste between mulies and whitetails? I wish we had elk here.
I find mule deer a bit of a wilder taste. I personally love the “gamey” taste, so elk is my least favourite and mullie my most, lol.
I had a great season, my bull elk at 26 yds with my Lyman GPH fulfilled a long time wish to successfully harvest an elk with traditional muzzleloader, a nice little calf moose in early November and now my mulie buck to cap it off. Lots of great meat for the winter, even with giving both 1/2 of the moose and elk to hunting partners!

Thank you very much for the pic., the story, and the glowing feedback on my knife. I just signed up. I hope that new Roch Belly works out as well. It's on it's way.
God bless:

Congrads! For a "Meat Deer" he looks like a great buck to me. It has been a dream of mine for a long time to get a nice Muley some day. That one would suit me just fine.:thumb:

Congratulations on the muley. I have not tried that meat, but white tail, elk an buffalo. Had some great buffalo and some not so much, elk burger was okay.

Thanks everyone. There was no skill to this one, I did know he was in the area but so were others. I took the first buck that presented a shot. I was hunting meat only and was not fussy as long as he was a legal buck. 150 yard shot to the neck and it was work time.
Would love to say I targeted him, but no..
