That rifle and my 54-120 have specific criteria for scope specs. Good relief and light weight are a must. The NULA is capable at longer ranges (hunting accuracy) but they were never intended to be long range MLs. Both are light weight hunting rigs and excel at it. Dropping a 20oz+ scope in a set of Talley light weights dont seem like the best idea either.
I can be much more flexible on the 45 1-20 or the Super DISC. Not much is gunna get the weight down and i knew it going in. As long as i can keep them well under the pig of a Savage weight im more or less ok with it. I cant shoot past 100 yards at any of our ranges. I can get to maybe 200ish at private property so top shelf glass is not a requirement.
The only range that goes past 100 is over an hour drive and like $500 fee+ $250 a year but it is a very nice range. Got to have a sponsor too which seems somewhat snobbish. Cant justify the cost for so little i would be able to make it out there.
NULA is next up for glass. Move its Redfield to the Super DISC. Sell off the Nikon Omega and the Swift Premier 2x7x40 which is a killer sub $200 scope. The eye relief just blows biscuits. Nice Bak7 Schott glass and FOW but it will bump me once in awhile.

Probably gunna let the Savage 45 go to fund other things and wont need the Swift any longer. So i should have over a grand to use for upgrading 1 for sure and maybe 2. That Loopie VX3i looks like a prime candidate for the NULA. It fits all the criteria although i would prefer a 2x"X"x40 for a wider FOV 2x offers. Razor HD LH 2x10x40 range is better but eats deeper into the funds. Im always on the lowest magnification while walking to the stand/blind after getting caught off guard and losing a nice deer a few year ago.
