If i was gunna grab another cheaper Vortex it would be a Tactical but atm you can get a Viper at Midway for $250.

Thats a nice scope for $250 and i would just need a set of Talley 30mm light weights. ;)

Looking to buy under $500 long range scope with approximately 20X being top magnification for a Paramount. Hoping Black Friday may bring some great deals. Based on past years experience any recommendations for which sellers I should be sure to check, or any particular brands that have been deals the last couple years. Thanks for any suggestions.
let me know what you ended up with,(if any yet). looking for exact same thing for my paramount. still undecided what power scope to go to, 20x would be max. just know my 9x ain't gettin it at 200 plus yards

You wont find many 20x tough scope that are under $500. Most will be around $800. If they are cheaper its probably Chinese. Some of the Nikon prices are falling fast. Not sure how well they will handle the recoil but the Nikon Black line get great reviews.

My money would be on a Sightron for a tough 20x scope with great glass.

I’m going with the Burris 4.5 - 14 X 42 for my new CVA Accura V2.
Good enough scope for me for less than $200

I hope it works out for you.let us know your results

Cary,
My neighbor ordered one last night, after reading back through this thread I am a little concerned with the eye relief with this scope. Might wait to see how his shoulders and works out, he has a CVA Optima.

I’d stay away from Nikon. They are discontinuing the scope business.
Warranty?
And very much agree about their BDC. Dumbest reticle I’ve ever seen.

I see no mention of Leica or Trijicon scopes.
My Magnus has been a absolutely great scope. It’s like someone turns a spot light on at dusk with it’s light transmitting glass.
As well as my Tri.
Vortex. I have a Diamondback HP on my 375 SML for five years now .NP noticed.

Other sub-optic brands making noise. I’d stay away from. Learned my lesson when I purchased 30-60x80 spotting scope.
Read reviews on a birding sight. I didn’t want to spend the amount for a Leica. Was thinking Vortex Razor Hd. Read about the Zen-Ray. Bought it.
Had to send it back as the eye piece was loose.
Then two years later I wanted to send it back due to a spotty interior objective lens. Found out they were out of business. $1k lesson.
Luckily for $80 I had it cleaned.
Have other brands but for now,,,,,
My 2 ct’s

I would like to try a Burris Veracity but the others...no so much. You see tons of them sold as refurbs on Natchez. The Veracity 2x10x42 looks super sweet for a hunting scope. Tons of features but its no light weight either. Its supposed to hold its own very well against scopes costing $100s more.

The ZA5s were extremely good scopes. Even the ZA3 is good. When they blew them out for almost half price you probably could not find a better scope for that kind of money.

ZA3 was made to compete against Conquests. The ZA5 was better. The new Zeiss V4s might even be better than both but they cost more too. You can still get a V4 for under $500 on sale. Lotta scope for that kinda money too. Just not a ton of eye relief. Not terrible but i would prefer more on a ML.

ATM i got my eye on the TRACT Turion 3x9x40 for my NULA. Its about $400. Uses Schott HT glass and the specs are excellent for a hunting ML not intended for really long range.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I decided to go with the Burris Veracity 3-15X50 for the Paramount. During the research I also came across and purchased a Vortex Strike Eagle 4-24X50 at a close-out price. It has mixed reviews and is a discontinued model so taking my chances. Figure if it fails can always use the Vortex warranty to replace it. Thanks again for all the input!

Im pretty certain you will like the Veracity. The reviews are pretty much all great. I would have looked at the DB Tacticals instead of the Strike Eagle but its worth a shot if you got it cheap enough.

Man these TRACT scopes are getting some killer reviews. The 30mm is more than i can manage after selling some stuff but i could manage this and the specs are wicked
https://tractoptics.com/toric-uhd-3-15x50-t-plex
