Still trying to find my preferred propellant. Shot some pyrodex pellets my buddy gave me and I now realize why he gave them to me! They were messy and tough to clean up. It seems from my reading that loose powder substitutes are easy to clean and give better accuracy. 777 ffg is much cheaper and easier to obtain than BH209 here in San Diego. It is also highly rated on Midway. I have a CVA Accura V2. Shot sst's with 100grains of the pyrodex pellets, 777 primers and was able to get 4 inch groups at 50 yards with iron sights. Remember it was my first time! On a side note I called CVA today and asked if the amount of blowback I got was normal. He said no and advised me they use 777 pellets and 777 primers despite the whitehots being advertised. I have a box of blue box w209 primers on the way as people suggest they help blowback and have read about the o ring solution. I know this covers a couple things but, thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Got it. I’d try BH209 if you have the correct breech plug.
I picked up the right breech plug. No where local sells the stuff and a 10 ounce container is $57 shipped compared to the 777fg 1 pound for $48 shipped. Is it really that much better?
Thank you

Depending on the range you plan to shoot/hunt, T7 and BH are both good propellants. T7 creates a crud ring and you need to swab between rounds, where with BH, most don't swab at all.
However for me...….. I can clean a rifle that has been shot with T7M pellets in 1/2 the time of cleaning with BH.

Boy stuff is high out there !!!
For the difference in the money and 6 oz more powder T7 is really lookin good !!! Blackhorn is cleaner but im not so sure its worth it anymore . It is good stuff though !!!! Try some and see for yourself is the best bet .

Price mainly. .bh209 is so expensive that i may either go back to t7 or go smokeless.

If I would quit shooting for recreation and practice - I really would use BH! But since I can go through so much powder in a year most of my shooting is done with T7. And I can honestly say I really like shooting it. I do not fight the 'crud ring' as much as others do. Over the years I have been able to diminish the 'crud ring' a great deal.

If the price is right a T8 could be a real good thing for me.

Do you shoot T7 pellets or the loose ffg?

Sir what exactly do you do to diminish the crud ring, I personally don’t mind swabbing between shots, let’s my barrel cool , but that crud ring can be a real pita
