My .44 cal Remington Army revolver shoots high. I have watched different videos such as soldering, JB weld, and some type of lock-tight compound. Do any of you guys have any suggestions?
I already done that bud. And it still shoots very high.Just a thought, would it be easier to file the groove a bit lower on the rear sight?
I bought some JB weld, water resistant apoxy today. I really believe this will work.I have the same issue with a luger p08. No room to file and front sight needs to be lengthened. I am thinking to grab an aftermarket one and use it. do you think jb weld will hold up?
I am shooting from a rest.
I was successful with the JB Weld. I am looking forward to practice tomorrow and I built it up high enough to allow for any needed filing!I have the same issue with a luger p08. Are you trying to make me look like a fool or something?Give it a whack with a Babbitt rod. That’s how gunsmiths adjusted point of impact on fixed sight revolvers.
I apologize for that. I used JB Weld today to build it up taller. Then I filed and formed it better. Tomorrow, I will take it out to my range and shoot/file until I get to shooting correctly. I just hope it holds! No way. The procedure is old school.
Tell me a lil more please. What is a babbit rod?No way. The procedure is old school.
