Guys, I was looking on the fury bullet site and saw a couple 45 cal. muzzleloader bullets that seem to be a new addition and wondered if anyone here has tried them out of a scout conversion. the bullets are a 265 gr. yellow ball tipped STB bullet with thinner jacket. and also a 250, 275, 300 gr. star tip 2 with a thinner jacket and polymer tip. Kip

I've shot them in my Paramount, the 265 has outshot everything including the blue spaceship eld,, I've shot every sleek pitman,, Parker top bullet etc. Dennis at fury bullets built these bullets with a thinner jacket for blackhorn muzzleloader speeds,I'm sure they would work fine smokeless as long as the loads were not to hot,, as to the 250 and 275 and 300 grain start tips for my money there are the best purchase available in America, 4 hunting bullets they're the most accurate I have shot,, let me clarify I believe the sleek Pittman and Parker type bullets on the bench may out shoot the furys, but not by much,,for the money the furys are the best I have found, the 265 you mentioned is 453 instead of 452, Dennis design this to fit the diameter and bore of the Paramount rifle, however if you're sizing bullets it should work fine, get 50 of the star tip 250, and 50 of the 265 sit down and shoot you will become a believer

I have 5 smokeless rifles and several CVA,if I had to pick one bullet that outshot everything else on an average in all of these rifles it would be the 250 star tip again I would never have guessed that looking at the bullet, some of these rifles will shoot the Pittman Parker bullets into an absolute hole, but they'll still put the star tip in 1/4 to 1/2 inch . I could not be a bigger fan than I am of fury bullets

Mnt monkey, thank you so much for your insight into this! I am just getting started with a new scout conversion with HIS ignition modules. I do have some 250 star tip bullets without the tip, just crimped up front, if thats the one you are talking about. I only fired 3 of those initially at close range to adjust my new scope. I do have a hankins 45 cal bullet sizer. I strictly hunt fields being disabled with a nerve disease these days so my shots generally can be anywhere from 75 to over 200 yds. I am getting 1 inch groups at 100yds with everything Ive tried so far including star tip 2's in 275 but have only used 56 gr of h4198 so far. My first 2 shots are always touching and then the third shot opens it up to about an inch. I guess the barrel starting to get warm, but I'm super happy and just looking for good value in my bullets. I just have a hard time going over 1.50 a bullet with all the choices out there. I will go shoot these 250 star tips and try different charges too. like you say they are plain jane looking but if they are a workhorse I need to sit down and shoot them.

You're headed down the right road, and in reality it's those first two shots in muzzleloading they're the most important to me, I know many of us shoot three shot and 5 shot groups but practically speaking in a hunting situation you're going to be lucky if you're able to even get a second shot off and I know you realize that, yes that 250 star tip with the open in that pinches to a point is the bullet I'm talking about, I think if you're staying with that 55 56 grain load of 4198 you're going to be well-served, since you have a bullet sizing die I would suggest you try Furies 265 also

I have not chronograph the load, I shot a half inch 5 shot group at a hundred, and a two and a half inch 5 shot group at 300 in a 12 mile an hour wind, find the Paramount thread on this site and go back and look ,, I'll help you any way I can

I've lost interest in velocities, for me I settle on what shoots a hole in my rifle and I ajust whatever velocity that is with my hold

I was shooting 85 and 84 grains of blackhorn in the Paramount,, in my smokeless rifles which are barrel nut thinner diameter barrels, like your CVA I shoot 59 to 60 grains with the 250 of 4198

How fast are they pushing those 265's out of the paramount?
Hi, I'm testing the .453 265gr Fury's as well. I'm using 98gr bw BH209 no wad thru a Caldwell chrony. Avg MV was right in the 2450 fps range. Mtn monkey is shooting 84-85gr bw . We have the same climate & elevation. Perhaps a lil math can calculate the mv from that weight of charge. I personally don't know how to work that out without a calculator
According to the ballistic calculator that bullet still carries enough ke out to 500yds to be a great deer bullet. I'll be using it I know that. I put 6 rounds inside 3/4" @100yds with that load. I'm having a muzzle brake installed now. The groups WILL improve. I'll be pushing them abit faster when I get my gun back. Anything i can help with I'm happy to do so. But you talkin with Mtn monkey yer already on solid ground & in good hands. Kind regards. Stick around, this experiment with our Paramounts is just gonna get better. It's a lot of fun & great learning experience.

thanks again Mt monkey. I really appreciate it.
Hey bud, the thread Mtn monkey is referring to is ( CVA Paramount Update ) it's gotten to be a pretty lengthly threat & a fantastic group of guys & incredible info & insight in there. I'd strongly suggest starting to read the thread at page 1. Join us there. You won't be disappointed. Kind regards & good luck

Alright, you've peaked my interest. I've been super happy with the Gould's I cast, in all my .45s so far. But now you have me ready to try those 265s. At least in my .45 Accura. I want to shoot a hotter load than I can with lead and that may be the one I'm looking for.

I just ordered some of the 265 x .453's to try , and already have some 250 star tip without the point to try along side of them. I have a sizing die set up waiting on them.

I may have been one of the first to report on the 453's, which shot extremely well from my rifle. The 250's also shot excellent.

I've actually had very good accuracy from all the Fury bullets I've shot or tested for Dennis. As for the original 50cal start tips, they shot very good but from my UF the accuracy stopped at any distance beyond 300yds, which very few hunters will take those shots anyway.

I’ve had good results with the 250 star tips , also have the 265 STB ordered. Shooting a 45 1-20 mountaineer.
Hey bud if you plan to shoot .453 FURY 265gr and you are NOT using a CVA Bergera barrel I dont know if thats going to work. Dennis made them .453 for the Paramount & the other new CVA ML's ( Accura & Optima ) have the same barrel & 1"22 twist. I'm just getting into resizing ML bullets since I bought my Paramount last Nov & a Hankins sizing die a month or so ago so I am no expert by any means, but wouldn't you better serve yourself by just using the .451 or .452 bullets avail in your Knight?
I must say though, I'm so glad to see ppl payin attn to what mtn monkey or me have been up to with our Paramounts & testing diff bullets besides the 280gr ELR's. We hope this opens up a new successful line of bullets for paramount shooters & Dennis @ Fury bullets. Keep up posted with your results plz. Kind regards
