I use a safari sling. I like an "always at the ready" carry, hands free.

That would work for some.
I don't still hunt, so over the back for a 14# rifle would be better for me. Having it in front might cause this old man to tip over forward. I'd rather go backwards and hit on my bit butt LOL
I ordered the Slogan sling this morning. A couple of the guys on the Ultimate page already have it and it appears to do exactly what they say it does.

Bought a long magnum, last year at our Boat sport and travel show and used it during season this year. I’ll never own another brand of sling! I’ve always had issues with a sling, sliding off my shoulder and this one, stays put!

I will ad that I didn’t like the cheap sling swivels that come with the sling and bought these 1 1/4” swivels. They are much better than the cheap plastic ones that was on it and better/cheaper than the upgrade Uncle Mikes, they offered as an upgrade 1BC42E82-3FA0-41D4-8D2A-B4EA1CE16380.png

I've been using them for at least 20 years now.

They are the best sling you will ever use. Either upgrade the sling swivels or replace.

My original sling is still going strong, and no signs of dry rot on any of them.

I have 1 Magnum and 5 regular rifleman. 1 bow sling, and 1binocular sling.

I used the Magnum when I carried the H&R 20ga truck axle around.

I use them on everything.

Its ordered with the upgraded steel swivels. After I seen the video of him leaning over without it in back pack and the rifle not fall off his shoulder, I was more or less sold at that point. Then when he showed it back pack style, I had to ask. I've been using a custom made leather sling that a guy made with the thump loop for me many years ago. It was ok when I was shooting and carrying light production rifles, but once I started with heavy rifles, it just became a PITA trying to keep that rifle on my shoulder.
Looking forward to trying and using it.

Yep, and you can use your thumbs for other things now.

They are worth a million bucks while elk hunting in the Rockies. They are like a shock absorber while walking, and you have full control going 3/4 backpack while navigating steep terrain.

I like that always ready !!! At times i scout around in an area and that would be really nice !!! Ive got Vero Vinnelli slings , really like how they give and absorb shock very comfortable , but its cost me a couple nice bucks carrying conventionally too . I tried to use mine like that but the upside down gun causes confusesion if one jumps and runs . Huummm.....

Well boys & girls, the sling showed up today.
Without question it does exactly what they say it will do. :bravo:

They claim no odor, but I can see it'll need a few days of airing out from manufacture.
When I tried it, I didn't have heavy hunting clothes on, but it stretches well and will hold tight.
The "backpacking" position will never let a rifle drop, ever. If the rifle touches the ground, you just fell down ;)

I switched to the slogan slings last year and absolutely love them! I have always use claw slings and thought they were great but I like the slogans way better. I will be switching all my claw slings over to them. They do not move on your shoulder and the stretch in them is like a shock absorber.

Darn you, Encore! Something else I just have to pick up! Ordering the Bino Strap as well. Thanks for sharing.

Recently got one. Best sling for horseback carry. Stays in place, minimum bounce.

Not trying to be negative, but my thoughts are concern of stretchy carrying a heavy gun 10lbs or more. You know the guns going to bounce up and down on the sling
I would have to try it before buying. Just saying!

X3 on the safari sling. I don't make offhand shots often, so I don't really need the ready to fire version, but because it goes over your back, it is the most comfortable way to carry a rifle and have it easily accessible. My grandson went on his first elk hunt last year. At 30 yards, he got his sling caught on his pack frame and couldn't get off a shot. He'll be carrying a safari sling this year, or a frameless pack, or both.

My rifle weighs 14#, there's no bouncing up and down on the sling.
There's no slipping.
If you throw one piece of the strap over your head, it won't come off if you fall down.

I've had all kinds of slings, cheap to expensive, and this sling beats them all. Just saying!

I'm With you on trying all kinds of slings and out of about 8 I only really like 3. All are 1- 1/4 in wide. Nylon or leather with non slip pads.
I find the sling used on the CVA guns not to bad. They use a non slip shoulder pad.
I don't hunt with a pack so no problem there. I sling a day bag over the opposite shoulder from my rifle sling for balance .
