Yes indeed. Without question. Turns a rifle that shoots conicals like shotgun pellets into a real good shooter. Did it four times; worked good every one.

However, will never do it again; it isn't necessary. One can just use the
MMP ballistic bridge sub-base

The sub-base cure accuracy issues due to the QLA; no need to cut the QLA off.
Thanks Ron for takin the time to go into detail with this info. I appreciate that as well as now having a clear accurate answer to my question, which leads to sound decision making & not wasting money/time on unnecessary things.

TC Northwest Explorer. It's an Omega, in 1:48 twist. Mine wears a nice grey cammo composite stock, with RMEF logo. Stainless, .50. Didn't realize it could be re-barreled, as it looks like all one piece. I haven't been real pleased with the accuracy, so maybe I should have a nice fast-twist .45 put on it? 🤔
Heck yeah! Now yer talkin.

Not quite. Actually they were different.

Correct. My bad. I've only had 1 X7 and I bought for a flip. I've never had a DS, one Northwest Explorer, all the rest were Omegas or Z5 Omegas. Almost all were parted out. I managed to find two 1-20 .45's, both were moved on. The search continues.

The x7 actually came with two different front site too, green and red at different heights

Anyone know if there is an easy way to identify 45s with a 1/20 twist? A serial number or something like that?

I tried to contact TC/S&W but you might as well talk to the wall with them. They claimed that all the records were destroyed. I spoke with their TC "specialist" and swore up and down that there was never a 1-20 Omega or Encore(early encore .45 were 1-20 also). The highest 1-20 serial I have seen is around S3400. If someone has one higher I would like to know. I don't need the whole number just the first two. The only other thing that the 1-20 rifles had was the early bp with the flat face, but even that doesn't help much as bp's get changed. If I had to guess it would have to be a serial under S5000 for a 1-20, but that's a guess.

I just found a 45 Omega and the nice gentleman agreed to ship it to me from Wisconsin. Hope to have it by next weekend. Black and stainless. QLA. He thinks its a 1:28 but isn't certain. Has a TC scope on it. Ive been doing a ton of side work lately to pay for it and my optima pistol.
I have the same, it's 1:28 and I'm also selling mine set up the same way.

We'll get to see some gun & target porn... won't we.. Congrats brotha. I'm super happy & excited for ya.

Slightly off topic but, is the std Omega breech plug sufficient for BH209? Is there a flavor of primers besides the Remingtons that work well?
