After reading up and researching I still cannot get the bolt out of my Knight disc with out removing the stock and trigger assembly. It seems to be catching on the sear. The sear appears to operate correctly. I try pulling the trigger and tapping on the bolt handle but that does not work either. Any suggestions?

Now this is going to seem way off - but maybe... Did you purchase the rifle new or used? I am somewhat concerned that you may have the wrong trigger in the rifle. There is a difference in the sear height of the DISC trigger and the percussion Knight triggers. The look the same in a lot of ways and will fit the the same.

No wait.... has the rifle always had this problem and lately developed the problem? let's start with that one question first.

Sear on the left is a percussion trigger - the one on the right is a bolt Knight trigger.

This is the trigger that is in it. I bought it used from a friend of mine.

I don't have a DISC as the moment, I do have a UL. I do believe Sabotloader figured out what your problem is. That trigger is for the Percussion (Plunger) Rifles like the MK-85/95 & LK's. Sear is way taller in the Precussion trigger. I'd be a bit surprised if the sear even drops enough to fire. I would check with the guy you got it from and see if he has the right one such as the one on the right in Saboloaders Pic.

Just curious but is that one stamped "Timney" on the Safety lever?

Sorry out of ideas I would have to physically see it to understand what could be the issue sorry !!

Does your Friend had another rifle to try a different trigger, one with the other type of Sear? Maybe he swapped the triggers by accident between 2 different rifles?

He doesn't. Is there anywhere that still sells trigger assemblies?

I checked Numrich and they are out of stock but they also were quite expensive from them. Sometimes the Pop up on Ebay or the classifieds on forums and gunbroker. I'm not sure if Knight will sell just the trigger assembly. I thought I heard they wont but maybe someone else knows for sure.

I remember doc would have to sometimes take off some material on top of aluminum housing maybe to change the angle ? Does it look uneven at any angle ?

I came back to make the same suggestion as michiganmuzzy posted. You could keep the rest as parts or part it out and sell of the parts. The Bolt on that one looks like it really needs some cleaning.
You could call Knight and tell them your problem and see if they will sell just the trigger. If you get your post count up to the minimum required you can post a "Wanted" post on the Classifieds here and buy or trade one.

Is the Trigger you currently have stamped "Timney"

His current trigger has a Sear that is too tall, its not the correct shape but he said the rifle fires ok. Removing any trigger frame metal, to his trigger, would increase that height and make the issue worse, possibly not allowing the sear to drop enough to let the rifle fire. BUT.. I have heard some talk about doing what you mention to a Trigger that they purchased direct from Timney to make it fit a Knight. I seem to remember they did that to one for a Mauser and milled off the bump on the top of the frame as it would create an angle that caused it to not work on the Knight. I could be mis-remembering which model it was.

If a guy has a sear form a Bolt rifle it may be possible to remove them and use the right sear as a pattern to alter the other.:think:

That is a trigger for a Knight Plunger rifle- It may or may not say Timney on it. But that is the problem.

Finding a used one.... that could be a problem - they are out there but will probably take a lot of looking
