My daughter and I were finished and getting ready to come down the stand from the morning hunt about 6 years ago. It was then that a bachelor herd of 5 buck came on the scene. My daughter insisted I take the first shot. This was only because for each of the two previous years she had taken two bucks larger then anything I had ever taken in my entire hunting career. After my shot the other four went in the opposite direction of mine. Her deer decided to come back looking for his now dead buddy. She shoots the CVA Accura MR and I use the CVA Accura V2. Her deer actually aged one year older then mine.

Nice bucks!! i've never seen a group of 5 bucks with no velvet.. they usually hate each other after they rub it off... Wish my daughters would hunt with me... but they gave me grandson's to play with.

I'm in Virginia. The hunt was in Powhatan County. Rut is usually the first two weeks of November and you are correct about the Bucks. Once the Bucks are finished doing their thing the Bucks get back together to compare notes about the "girls". Usually around the end of our season in early January we will see groups of Bucks occasionally.

Above pic was the day after our season went out this year and the stand is in the background. They were not there the day before!!!!!! There are six Bucks in the pic but there were seven in the group. Something to look forward to for next year!!

No eyeguards shows up once in awhile, but usually not on the older class of Blacktail.

Black bears are on the hit list for the future.
