Welcome to the Forum, any questions just ask :lewis:

Would another rifle with a 1-48 twist work such as the Hawkin? Question how do you come up with a template? I really enjoy your video's

Lou, I have shot several different 1:48 Twist Rifles with just as good results as above :lewis: They just need the right Components.

This is one of the Templates i use, Mine was a tiny bit long, i used this one to make another out of a Plastic sign, I have made MANY of them.

Yesterday’s short range accuracy test with the Ole STOCK TC Renegade .50 Cal showed me PLENTY enough to Head for Some distance :) The Old Renegade was up for the Challenge :lewis:

3 Shots Measure 4“ inches, That is SUB MOA at 500 Yards with a BONE STOCK 48 Twist TC Renegade :) These Old STOCK Side Hammer Guns are VERY VERY CAPABLE Fellas :lewis: They just need the Right Components, and Someone to Get behind em, and “Drive“ Them

I’ll have to watch the video tomorrow during break. You’ve got some fans at SGRH maintenance Dept. Excited to see it.

I get 4 1/2 in. Groups at 400 with a stock 1n48 tc Hawkins with renegade barrel on it at 450 yards with just a plain no excuse bullet. My eyes anit great so that's good for me. 1n48 twist gets a bad rap. Nothing wrong with it. As long as your not trying to use to long a bullet.

400 or 450 Yards? Scope or Iron sights?

What is your Hold over? How much is your Bullet dropping?

Sorry for confusion. Lol. My groups r about the same at either distance. I can still hold 4 1/2 at 450. It's just a set of cheap aperture peep sights from Dixie gun works. The ones that go on a percussion Sharp's. They where only 100 dollars when I bought them. My tang has holes for peep sight. I just made them work. We just walked the bullets on target. With a spotting scope on low. I couldn't tell u the drop. Sorry. Was just a fun day playing Quigley with my bother lol. Was using 70 grains for goex and no it wasn't screened. Just shook can up real good. Volume load not tapped. Used a arrow for drop tube. Also used 2 veggie wads. Bullets was sized for bore. Used a cheap lee push thru that I honed out. We just wanted to have some fun. Turned out to be better than we thought. We weren't out to impress anyone. Just 2 brother's playing Quigley on the cheep. Lmao

Do you adjust your sight for this, or simply hold over? What kind of Front sight are you using?

Yes I we adjusted rear sight. And we used a wide over sized front sight I had in junk bin. We just raised rear. And drifted front for spin drift and whatever lite Breese there was. Seems like it had alot of spin drift if I'm recalling correctly. Don't know how tall front sight was. If u look on Dixie gun works site. You'll see it. They was on sale when I bought it. Didn't use front sight that came with it if I'm remembering correctly. Took it all off after that day. Put it back like it was. Wasn't a pretty rig. Lmao

This brings to mind Don Bower with his wooden shooting rest with wildcat contender barrels.
