found it at H&Y in richlands . they had 3 can of the powder left and let me have them for $31 each . the primers were $10 per pack . not the cleanest/best stuff , but it's something and i think i'll be good for 200 shots ....... they had 5 cans of 777 and i was gonna get 3 of them but the guy pointed out they were fff so he caught my mistake before i made it , kudos to him ! :)

we gotta take my ladies cousin to the doc in bristol tomorrow so i'm gonna drop them off and go to bass pro across the road and see what they have for cleaning and bullets/sabots , if anything at all . i'll probably end up ordering them from midway though since BP is on the high side price wise and muzzle-loaders seems to be OOS of almost everything i'm interested in . so i should be shooting in about 2 weeks .

i'm totally new to ML's and was of the impression that FFG is what i want for a modern inline .
i'll be shooting a 2003 CVA optima .
maybe i misunderstood though ?

well . i have the pyrodex ff now so i guess i'll be using it for a while .... unless BH209 becomes available for somewhat reasonable prices again .
live and learn ......

thanks for the cleaning tips . the guy did me a favor on the pyrodex so i'm gonna keep it .
he had some pellets including white hots but the cost per shot is much higher than loose powder .

are the federal 209A primers decent ? that's all he had .

i'm sure it varies .... but will i need to clean/swab after every shot with the pyrodex or should i be able to do it every 2nd or 3rd shot ?

are full bore lead bullets easier to push down the barrel or sabots ?

thanks for putting up with me :)

Well you have powder! The Pyrodex will do just fine but like everyone says, clean right after you are done shooting for the day. I use it also but do a quick clean before leaving the range and a thorough one at home.

I am able to get multiple shots before running a spit patch down the bore but just for consistency sake i do it after every shot.

I personally haven't found full bore or sabots to be any harder than the other to push down. Provided the sabot bullet combo is the right fit for my gun.

I doubt that prices will be reasonable. I was told yesterday by the store where I order powder that the next blackhorn will probably be over $50 a bottle. I am down to 15 pounds . Probably save it and shoot more triple 7 . I was able to order a lot of 777 yesterday. So I am good for life 😁
