This test was done to compare our muzzle loader bullet performance with the performance of a modern center fire rifle bullet. The bullet tested was a 120 grain, 264 caliber Nosler Ballistic Tip. The range was 204 yard. According to calculation, the bullet was traveling at about 2325 fps at impact.

The bullet went through the carpet, plywood, shredded the first two jugs, went through the third, and was captured by the fourth. Expansion, and penetration was virtually identical to what we saw from the better muzzle loader bullets. It now weighs 74.6 grain.

That Ballistic Tip will drop a deer in it's tracks if it gets to the lungs. Thanks for the video report. I've been shooting Ballistic Tips since 1985, and they have killed a lot of game for me.

Ron, Have you hade the chance to test the Lehigh .458, 305 grain brass round, yet? I just received 20, and am waiting on sabots, (orange, from MMP).
I must say, they look almost un-real.
