For those of you that use Blackhorn 209 check your local Wal-Mart. In the past week at two different stores I have picked up 3 jugs on clearance for $15 each. Hope my gun likes it.

Just make sure to get a Blackhorn loose powder breech plug from either CVA or Western Powders. Another better option is to have your OEM pellet breech plug modified to accept a vent liner.

Ron L On this board modifies the breech plugs for a very reasonable fee.

If you get a compatible breech plug, you'll love the powder, I'm sure.

I have already picked up the blackhorn breech plug ...thanks. I found it cheaper on Amazon than anyplace else

My local Walmart don't carry anything. :(
Never Seen BH 209 at Walmart here In Michigan. The ones around here have cut back as to what Hunting Supplies they now Carry. Hit and Miss some store not having much but your basic shotgun and long rilfe...

The Alpena store has carried it for a few years. More and more hunters are using it, so it doesn't remain on the shelves long, even up here.

Unfortunately I live in NY on Long Island and here Walmart dropped ALL firearms several years ago. They bowed to Anti Gun Pressure here. They don't carry any ML supplies. Just a few cleaning supplies and maybe a set of Weaver rings. They do carry some CF rifle, Rimfire and handgun ammo, But that's it. Not worth the time to walk that Isle. :(

Dicks opened up a Field and Stream that was pretty darn nice. Then that idiot CEO bowed to the Anti pressure and as far as I know no one I know will grace their doorstep, but that's another rant for another thread.

Congrats! The local WM stores here stopped carrying the large inventories for ML a few years back.
They didn't like doing clearance on those items.
I get more and more items on the net when I find the good buys to make sure I don't run low and pay premium prices.

Just seen on another site where they have a deal's to be had forum. Guy down in Tennessee picked up some Blackhorn209 at his Wal-Mart for $9 a jug. All their powder was marked down to near nothing.

Checked mine today because Wally World is the only place locally that has Gatorade powder.

No BH209
No MLs left
BlueMZ $9
T7 FireStar pellets $21
A few great deals on loading stuff like a T/C charging system for $13 https://accessories.tcarms.com/product/thompson-center-muzzcharger-black-powder-speed-loader/
T/C Uview measure was either $5 or $9

The best deal IMO was the 50x40 200gr Shockwave for $5 a pack of 15. Best price i can find for the 200gr SST is $60/100 plus shipping

I stopped into a local Wal-Mart yesterday afternoon. The Blackhorn was sold out at $19, and several Firestars on the shelf for $15. Other odds and ends like GM posted above. All the remaining rifles sold out Sunday and Monday for half price. He said he sold 6 on Sunday, and one guy bought the remaining 6 for $99 each on Monday.

Dodged that bullet by one day!

I've found numerous deals on 13 dollar per jug of BH 209, 5 dollar per 24 pack of Blue MZ, 1.50 per pack of TC cheap shots, among other things and have taken advantage of those that were needed. I'm well stocked and really in need of nothing, except time to shoot...

I didnt need anything either but i was curious. If they had a smokin deal on BH209 i sure would have grabbed it. I would have grabbed several $99 MLs too if they were models i could resell easily for double later in the year. Even at $200 a Optima SS would sell fast on the boards during pre-season.

I know where a sub $180 Optima stainless thumbhole V2 LR resides. Maybe I should buy it...
