Man, I love those Super Safari stocks! I had Doc put one on my M98 and and had it Black Ice coated as well. I just love the way that Safari stock feels in my hands. Then again, I'm also drooling over that 451 of yours with the black Ice coating.

It is very accurate with your bullets. That is the only one that gets any time in the woods. The rest are safe queens.

Greg, did you have to do any inletting of the stock in order for the Lyman model 57SMET sight to fit? A fellow member here is looking to put the same sight onto a Laminated M98 stock.

Do you all keep the hammer spring installed in your whites? I don't, I keep them separate an reinstall just before a hunt or range session. 1 is keeps the springs like new an strong. 2 if anyone would happen to get into my safe they couldn't fire the guns, safety issue, unless they found the springs and knew how to take the guns apart.

I don't believe if the guns are uncocked during storage that there is enough tension on spring to cause them to weaken any, Ive got Springer air rifles that the main springs last for 4-10,000 shots and the mainsprings are always in the gun under more tension then our hammer springs on muzzle loaders.
If left cocked I can see that weakening them, some air gun guys will leave a new magnum air rifle cocked for a couple days or a week to take some power out of main spring to make recoil smoother and lose a bit of power.

I leave the rifles assembled. About every three to four months I pull them out and swab the bores and inspect them.

Morning: Found the pic and was wondering will all the metal surfaces be black iced except the bore?

Yes, except the trigger assembly an bolt/hammer spring and bore. The rest is black iced, sure makes it easy to clean up!!
So the breech area where the bolt and hammer would be located would be black iced also?
