I thought the Ruger was only made in 50cal. Ruger's website has a serial number list with manufacture dates.

One other thing I've learned on the Ruger 77/50 is that as new they came with the typical breach plug wrench but also a "cleaning tube" that screwed into the breach to aid in cleaning. My used guns when purchased of course had none of the tools but I found by taking a chance on purchasing a similar cleaning tube for a Rem. 700 MZ offered by Midway USA that it has the same BP dia. and pitch as the Rem and also a TC Omega and screws right in when the bolt and BP is removed. This tube when used will help keep any solvents/debris out of the trigger group and off the stock.

Yes I did. I didn’t do anything with it yet
Getting ready for a bear hunt in a couple weeks so I been practicing for that and trying to decide what to use :)
Narrowed it down to 2 different guns I think
A sidelock and an in-line. Both fast twist though.

The Bold trigger does fit an works in the RidgeRunner just like it was made for it. Mine is with my gunsmith getting bedded, he does an excellent job! Hope to have it back by mid April.

Sounds great. I might actually have to try mine out sometime And see how she shoots.
Let me know your results when you get yours back
Will do. I now have Bullshop .540 conicals in 380gr. to try out an .54 Harvester sabots for .451/.452 bullets for the 300gr XTP's. One of those should do well. I have to wait till after May 1st to shoot, but hope to asap after that!

Thanks. I feel better now as I have one coming also :)
Well....long story short I had the RidgeRunner bedded and finally got to the range today. What a big disappointment!! I knew it wasn't even close to a White, but was hoping for better results. I couldn't get it to group either the 300 XTP/.54/45 sabot or the Bullshop 380gr. 54 cal. conical. There is a tight spot about half way down the bore I never noticed when cleaning it, but sure did when trying to load today, once passed that spot it loaded okay, but was spraying both loads, never came close to a group. I used 80gr. T72Fg with a #11 nipple, which took usually twice to get to the cap to fire. (The hammer does have a "tit" protrusion for a 209 primer) I didn't try the 209 primer adapter. It was very hard to load even after swabbing (I hate swabbing). This gun isn't gonna hunt with me, its gonna go to a local auction on June 8th, just hope to recover some of my $$ back.:(

Always stinks when expectations aren't met.

I just bought another MK85 online, violated my rule about buying used muzzleloaders online. Anyway I hope it's as clean as described. Paid more than I probably should have, but not to bad.

That’s to bad . Guess I might as well not mess with mine. I will just leave it NIB. I was hoping you would have something good to report. At least I ain’t out much .

You could take out the BP an push a bullet down to see if your bore has a tight spot an still be NIB. Never dawned on me, the bore looks perfect, cleaning patch didn't get stuck or show tight area.
I fell for the price too a new gun shouldn't be like this! Learned my lesson on buying any ML other than a White! Seems I have to find out the hard way....
