Went fishing at county park lake last 2 days, yesterday we caught 30 crappie and 4-5 bluegill in about a hour and today I caught about 20 crappie and 5-6 bluegill in about 3 hrs..
Yesterday it was nice and sunny today it started out cold, windy and raining, about when I left it got sunny and warmed up..
Yesterday they were hitting so hard they were jerking the end of rod and jig would be down in throat, today half the time you didn't even know they had it till you started to lift rod a little..
All in all better then working:woohoo:

No pictures taken other then by my buddy yesterday as he took fish home and the ones I caught today I gave to girl I work with for her Mom.

No casting 1/64-1/32 oz jigs off a fishing pier(down along sides of it) also caught about 10-15 in a treetop about 35 ft off bank in 3 ft of water, crappie come up into the shallows under it in the spring when water warms up just a bit, we were catching them in 1.5 ft to 6 ft of water, mostly in the shallower water.

Sounds like a Good time Dean! I miss fishing for Crappie, i need to take my Dad this Spring

my favorite fish to fish for other then big bull bluegill or Redears.
Me Too! Even better eating! When me and my brother went fishing when we were in high school he went for bass, and I went for bluegills and crappie, still do!:D:thumb: Crappie and Bluegill are our families favorites for a family fish fry.

Good way to spend an evening, Im jealous. Can't go for about another month unless I get a call from my spider rigging buddy, then it will be frezzer filling time. My favorite fish to catch ( or try to anyway ) and eat. Catfish is second and there isn't a third, you couldn't pay me to bass fish.

Me too. I like the smaller cats to eat though. Now I'm getting hungry again!:( I can't go out till Memorial day week.:(

Water isn't warm enough here yet for me to get after those big bluegill. I like to get them when on the nest, about hand size. Usually around middle to end of May is best time.
My youngest grandson is gonna spend a couple of weeks with us this summer so gotta take him out for sure!!
