I recently tried these in my Green Mountain LRH .50 Cal, They did AWESOME! They Shot nice n Tight, And retained nearly 100% of their weight after PLOWING Through Sand. They make these in a 350 Grain FP as well.

Those little guys are tougher then the Speer 325gr it seems. IIRC even Alexander Arms loaded them hotter and got better penetration in their Beowulf ammo. Great bullet if you get it to shoot well.

BTW its a real hoot watching you shoot jacketed sabotless in a sidelock with Swiss. :lewis:

I'm curious how much they " bump up" on firing. Meaning they started out .500, but what do the wind up? Obviously, those one's are pretty well thrashed.
Any idea about velocity?
Swiss black. Best powder there is! I shoot 3f myself.

Wonder if somehow I ever could find some how they would work out of a Lyman Deerstalker with a 1-48" twist?

Weight/length wise, these Should shoot REALLY good from a 1:48 Twist, I would bet on it! They are a small bullet for 1:28 Twist, But as you can see above they Did very good :lewis: in fact, As good as any of my Custom Molds, Go figure :wall: LOL!

Bullet performance was impeccable! They basically Retained their entire weight, After being Sand Blasted!!

I have a WHOLE PILE of stuff to tinker with Coming up :) I have a Drawer Full of .451, .452 Jacketed Bullets now :D Knowing your Bore Diameter is ESSENTIAL When playing with these Jacketed bullets in a Sidelock. And as you warned me when i first started Tinkering with this, these Things can “Bounce Back” a Little after Sitting. It’s amazing what 1/2 a Thou will do, Take a .451 that loads Snug, Try a .451.5 and You better have a Hammer  I think it would be much better if the Bullet was Slightly under bore and you ran Them between 2 mill files (Like Sabotloader) to Create “Lift” to Hold the Bore.
This stuff is fun to Tinker with, It’s not always a WIN WIN, But when you Hit everything right, it’s pretty Darn Cool!

Did these feel snug enough to stay on the powder while carrying the gun?

Lewis, I just had to run to the work bench and do a test fit in my GM 50 LRH. I have a box of 350grn Hornady XTP Mags. They are marked .500. I checked them and they are closer to .501. I tried for fit and it slid in without any grab on the bore. Way to loose. Your barrel must be slightly smaller than mine. I will run a couple between files tomorrow to bump them up and recheck. I believe my bore to be close to .503. Great shooting by the way.

No, These in particular Slid down with ZERO resistance, i did this intentionally. They say .500 but were actually .501 (my bore is .501) I didn’t want to “Argue” them Down the Bore since i was Target Shooting Them, I ran them through my .500 Sizer, Had i of Left them .501 they would have Held my Bore. My next outing, they will be left at .501 :lewis:

I use to Shoot Both the 350, the 500 Grain XTP in my S&W 500s (I’ve had 2 of those Hand Cannon’s over the years) The 500 Grain XTP Performed STELLAR from My Revolver, I shot 1 through the Side of a Huge Pot Belly Swimming pool that had Gone Bad, That Bullet would have Made the cover of a Magazine For Hornady :lewis:

The Mill File trick might work? If your Bore Diameter is actually .503 That might be a bit much? The Mill file trick is Something I truly know nothing about First Hand? I read about it on here Through Mr. Sabotloader, Mike had a really informative little Tutorial on doing it, I feel it should have been made a “Sticky” :lewis: I have looked it up a Couple of times.

Cool videos of these bullets and your speed should be fairly close to 50A&E
