Way to go to both to you and your Dad Lew! Were you there with your dad when he got his? If so treasure the memory. :D How far were the shots and did you use a ML shotgun?

Awesome. I am hoping to put a couple Eastern birds down this year. I have been out 3 days in a row. Worked birds everyday, they are henned up here. Saw 2 Barred Owls and shot a coyote this week.

I wasn’t with my Dad on his, But i am gonna try and Video his 2nd Tag :lewis: we are planning on going the next 2 Days if the Weather holds out.

I used a Modern Shotgun, A Cheap Single Shot “Beater” Gun :) I use to have a 12 Gauge Shotgun Barrel for my TC New Englander, I had an AWESOME Patterned Load for it, I just couldn’t get interested in Blackpowder Shotgun and Traded the Barrel.

As for shot distance, i like to get them in Close, about 20 Yards. Part of the fun of this Turkey hunting is getting them right in on ya! You can hear them Making all kinds of funny noises, Drumming etc.

Congrads to you and your Dad Lewis. Those are both Dandy Toms!:bravo:

Congrats Lewis and dad, his bird has a big ole noggin on him.

Nice work my friend! I however, came home empty handed. I too worked birds every day but something always went south at crunch time. Had a blast listening to sounds of the turkey woods..gobble gobble.

You were hunting the Wrong part of the World :p You should have come Over here!

These Big Gobblers are Hit & Miss, They have certain days they REALLY get Fired up, Other days they won’t say a Word? Yesterday wasn’t a great day, even tho i got the Goofy Jake Birds on Camera, They were the only REAL Vocal Characters i Found Yesterday. It sure is Fun when you hit the Days the BIG Gobblers are “LIT UP” One of the Very best times is Late Spring, when the Hens Go to set on their Eggs, That leaves the Gobblers 28 Days of Boredom standing around waiting on the Ladies :p You fire up a Hen Call During that time and they Come RUNNING to Visit, They aren’t very Loyal :D
