. . . make a BP sub that can compete with BH209. I was just at my local Cabelas, they were asking 49.99 for the 10oz. bottle. I thought it must have been an error, Cabelas/BPS should have decent deals as volume sellers. But I confirmed online. $50 a bottle is just too friggin much and I'm convinced the price would go down if someone made a decent competing product.

Meanwhile, I'll have to bite the bullet and pick up a 5# bottle. Graf&Sons has them for $243 shipped which is about $31/bottle.

Just needed to vent.

Cabelas prices have gone up since Bass pro bought them out. IMO.:wall:

The worst part!!! every time BH goes up - actually the average cost of BH, Hodgkin's raises the price of T7! I was really hoping that the BH would have the opposite effect on T7.

It seems that no matter what I buy these days the prices are outrageous, maybe it’s just me but the price of black horn seems crazy for 10 oz.

I got some new bottles of BH209 that I probably won't use. Going to use the "other" powder.

What's the problem??? That is as inexpensive as Blackkhorn has been for as long as i can remember.

The one's that crack me up, are the ones shooting $1 bullets, and whining about the price of Blackhorn. My practice bullets cost me 25¢, and i only shoot Blackhorn ever since it was available for purchase.

One good thing about the cost of Blackhorn is i these days only burn 90g per shot; poor deer still come home with, and end up in the freezer. Recoil?? What's that? ☺

I still have a handful of caplocks that I shoot for fun. Using hand cast balls, real black and hand cut patches makes them about as inexpensive to shoot as it gets. When it comes to hunting, I pay whatever it takes to get the most from my inline, including the price of BH209 and some higher priced bullets, and don't look back. Some things we love to do are just going to cost more. I've always joked that I can buy steak a lot cheaper than it costs to have venison in the freezer. Another love of mine is fishing and the cost of shooting my inlines pales in comparison to what I have invested in fishing equipment, including a boat. Thank God I never took up golf!

Walmart near you or near some family? I don't know how long it will last, but Walmart had BH209 on sale for $19 a bottle for me a few months back, some across the country got it for under $10 IIRC, load up and enjoy:elmer:That reminds me, time to order more of my favorite $1.40 hunting bullet:lewis:

Locally I can find BH209 under $40.00 in a couple places whenever I need any, but nobody carries any true blackpowder. I can find every kind of pellet imaginable or granular subs in FF, but not a grain of fff or true black. I have to travel over 90 miles to get black and even then its a toss-up whether they'll have any on hand.

Mr Tom I have the problem in New Jersey finding powder, if I am somewhere and the store has 777 I buy what they have, and sometimes it’s only one bottle, to me the black horn isn’t worth the headache to find, I really get great results from 777 in all my guns and I don’t mind swabbing. I have been vacuum sealing my powder with great results

No Walmart I have ever been in, in Washington has ever carried even one thing related to muzzleloading :(.
Wish they would so I could search out these screaming deals.
