Your plants are a great shade of green and thick stalks. When roots run out of space the plant will start to flower sometimes. Up potting and pinching off nodes will help slow it down if you want to do it.

I have to up pot my Joes Long Cayenne today. It got to about 2ft tall in a tiny starter cup. Probably just take it outside and keep it shaded for a few days. Its got a bunch of flowers on it all ready. I planted 5 pancas yesterday in the raised bed. Probably plant the 5 brown bhuts today. They are so small but im outta ideas to make them take off. A bunch more are ready for their summer pots too.

I am a FIRM Believer in Water PH, With our Water having a PH of nearly 8.0 it is WAY to high for Plants to Thrive, They “lock out” and can’t take up Nutrients. After watching my Rocotos last year, and the 1 i gave my Dad (My Best Plant) it made an ABSOLUTE Believer out of me. My Dad is on his own Well Water but the PH is the Same High 7s to 8.0 as mine. I watched my Plants become Trees, Green as a Gord, and LOADED with Pods. Dad’s Plant Started to Yellow, and Hardly grew. At the end of the Season he did get a Few Nice Ripe pods, But NOTHING even Remotely Close to Mine, In fact you would never have believed they were of the Same Plants if you didn’t know better. Plants will stay alive with High PH Water, But that’s about all they do, They Don’t Thrive.

I decided to Start catching Rain Water for my Seedlings, i have 4 of those 5 Gallon “Primo” Refillable Water Jugs, i have a Cheap Pump Spout that i got at Wally World to Go in them, Since we don’t use this Setup for drinking water anymore i designated it to Rain Water. This setup worked AWESOME for my Seedlings this year, All of my Plants have Gotten Rain Water, and ONLY Rain Water thus far (C. Reapers in photo Above) The problem now, and coming up is Dependability on Rain, We went through a Long Dry spell this May, it just Rained the last few days and Allowed me to Refill all 4 Jugs, But that’s not gonna last no time at all in Nice Warm/Hot June Weather with Fast Growing Plants such as my Tomatoes. I will use up this Rain Water by the end of the Month, then i will Transition over to Filtered Water in my 110 Gallon Stock Tank, treated with Sulfuric Acid (Battery acid)

Anyone with High PH Water really should try this Sulfuric Acid! It works, and works VERY well :lewis: I admit i was Skeptical, and kind of afraid of messing with the Stuff at first, But i came up with a Way that makes it SIMPLE to Do! I mix 5 Gallons at a Time, as i need it for Watering, that way the plants are getting it Nice n Fresh. I dip up about 2 Gallons of Water out of my 110 Gallon Stock Tank, i ad a 1/2 Teaspoon of Sulfuric Acid to it, then fill it the rest of the Way up with Water, i use a Long Plastic type Stir Stick and Stir it up good for Good measure (Probably not needed) Then water my Plants.

At first i tried pouring the Acid from the Container in to the 1/2 Teaspoon, i was able to do it, But i could also see an Accidental Spill MESS just waiting to happen, and I didn’t want that stuff on me, or possibly Breathing it like that. Simply put I didn’t like the Pour from Jug method at all! I went to my Local Napa Auto parts store and Bought a Nice Little Antifreeze Tester (Mini turkey Baster) i pulled the Rubber Squeeze bulb off and Dumped the Antifreeze Test Beads out, This Little Baster works STELLAR! Not only does it make getting the Acid out SUPER easy, and Perfectly filling the 1/2 Teaspoon, The Black Rubber Squeeze Bulb also acts as a Stopper to the Acid Bottle. It is really SIMPLE to do! My Plant Results last year using this method proved it’s worth OVER N OVER to me :lewis:

If they can safely Spread Sulfuric Acid (Battery Acid) like this, to this Degree on Orchards Etc to lower the Soil PH, I am quite comfortable with my little 1/2 Teaspoon per 5 Gallons of Water For my Pepper, And Tomato Plants :lewis:

Only have a couple extras left for 4 or 5 pots and 10 more for 2 raised beds. Storms pounded us last nite.

Pancas love their bed. I still have 5 backups i can probably think about using now.

Bonnets have been struggling between the rain, temps and having to take them inside. Now its either make it or dont. I got one more that is really nice but its a TFM and not a Dreadie.
AIn1Mjg.jpg

Took my extras and late starts outside. None were really critical to the grow. A few though are nice enough to figure out some place to put them.

But first, this is Stumpy. He is a Jays Peach Ghost Scorpion from Juanitos that did not like his shipping. Pics do not do him justice. He looks great and will be getting a nice pot soon.

5 Extra aji panca,... a couple each of, Thunder Mountain, Big Jim Heritage and Tekne Dolmasi...I will probably only make a good effort for the Thunders and the Big Jims.
7vMm0qK.jpg

Extra Bolsa de Dulce i plan to isolate in case i really like them.

The best TFM and all the bonnets for that matter are starting green up better. New growth is looking pretty good.

Stumpy's new digs. Thats a huge pot. That saucer is over 16" across the bottom. Got him isolated in the front of the house. It does get a little less light there but just a couple feet from the wall is sunny most of the day.

I was starving and only had 3 Kosher dogs left so i scarfed. :D

REALLY well fermented simple kimchi, 3 Hebrew Nationals and some cheap Thousand Island dressing.

I could not stand seeing all those SRP pods on plants that small plus i was curios so i removed the two on the lower plant.....Interesting flavor too for a green pod. Did not taste that green and had a sweetness to it. SOLID upper cayenne heat level.

Bolsa de Dulce are just starting to flower now. I think im going to really like these guys if they keep growing like this. SRP went in pots sooner.

Best TFM vs the others and the Naglah (right pot) which now looks much better.

Nothing seems to phase this aji arnaucho other than it refuses to grow UP. Podding up sorta nice though
Nr0thxa.jpg

AND i finally got rocoto pods that may ripen.
Around 6 or so on the little aji oro. They really look nice and healthy.

Didnt count how many on the mini red since i lost so many tiny pods last year.

First the bad......Every single pod out of 4 Antep Aci Dolma looks wrong. It appears i may have mislabeled seeds i saved from Tekne Dolmasi. Im so ticked off i didnt even bother to take pics. Blooms on these plants are massive for peppers and at first the pods looked about right....Not anymore they dont. At least the Tekne Dolmasi are a very good tasting pepper but they are not what i needed.

Sugar Rush Peach are beginning to grow up. Looking nice too. Im gunna be swamped in pods by the time these are done

Patio crew got dressed with Happy Frog, topped with straw and a small shot of fish emulsion to wet down the EZ-Straw. Possible rain within a few days so i wanted a headstart on it

IMO the TFMs and the Naglah while a tad slow look really nice

Dreadies got some catching up to do

Joes Long Cayenne needed some encouragement too but the pods are cool.
trsl3Sq.jpg

Jala patch got a good shot of fertilizer the other day and a couple aji pancas added in the middle. Fish emulsion mixed with MegaCrop and top dressed. If they dont perk up soon im totally baffled. My last extra Zapotec went in a fabric pot.

First ripe pod goes to Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion from Juanitos seedlings. Its gunna be a bruiser i bet and there are several more on the plant too. It is actually peach in color. Camera did not capture it very well.

Looks like I'm joining this thread a few years late, y'all have been talking about peppers since 2016 thats gotta be some kinda record. Well put me down for New Mexican Hatch chilies.
Every year HEB (Texas grocery store) puts them in ebevything from sausages to cheese dip down to cookies . No I'm not kidding they make a blonde Oreo style cookie with Hatch peppers in it. Forgot to mention the Hatch tortilla chips and fresh Hatch peppers and diced Hatch peppers. I'm sure I left some out.

Well, while slaving away on some pork steaks i took some time for pics.

Scotch Brains (Juanitos Seedlings)...Very cool looking pods :D

Fixins for the first hot sauce of the season. Mostly Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpions and an Aji Arnaucho or two. Plus a little onion and garlic. These JPGS pods are pretty freaking zippy too. Just gunna make a single bottle test.

Cant stress enough how much i enjoy growing Aji Arnaucho. They just chug along. Not much bothers them and even small plants produce like mad. Best mid heat chinense i ever grew. Maybe cayenne hot?
